I could not find any license put over the sprites on the site, so I was wondering, if credit is given to chara, or the individual authors, could chara sprites be used in what could turn into a commerical product?
-
You'd have to credit individual authors... but honestly if you're doing a commercial product then the sprites here probably aren't your best choice. You also have to be careful of what is enterbrain's and what is original work. Parts of sprites might come from the rpg maker RTP which I don't think you can use commercially unless you bought the original program or not at all.
-
Plus lots of graphics here are already rips from commercial games. I wouldn't risk it given that an individual may track you down
after seeing your success and get you in some legal trouble.

Also, another tip for the future: Don't double post the same topic.
It's not cool.
We have an edit button at the bottom of posts.

The posts are the same but just in different boards.

Yeah, we get this question all the time.
So, the answer is no, not because we're against it, but because the sprites there are not 100% original and you could get sued, in theory, from Enterbrain and a dozen other companies.

With that more or less settled, there is always the option of contacting a spriter for a custom set of sprites. You'd need to discuss the terms with them, but as long as they're working on original content, there aren't any legal issues.
