Title: Need help with ff7 chip sets for ff7 prologue game
Post by: Final-Fantasy-Forever on April 28, 2013, 06:00:34 AM
I am attempting to create a final fantasy vii prologue game, I would like to elaborate but  to be honest  I’m paranoid others may steal my idea, though I am very experienced and extremely passionate about making this game to the best of my potential. I am in need mainly of chip sets identical to the maps from the original game, Well as identical as possible of course and the best quality that can be created which is obviously still compatible with rm2k3., I need
•   Midgar’s maps (Whatever I can get for now)
•   Nibelheim (The Mansion Exterior & Interior Including Sephiroths Dungeon / Nibelheim  town Exterior & Interiors
•   This is all for now
•

I offer nothing but my word as a man that I will do justice with the resources I might receive and most definitely credit those involved.  :Plight:

So kinda like Crisis core?

FF7,8 and 9 does not use actual chipsets, or environment either. Only the world map and battles are actually made in 3d pretty much. All the other parts of these games are in fact pictures. Pictures with some "objects" on them like people and debris and such.

I remember someone making FF7 in rpgm2k3 like 4 years back, he got ff7 on an emulator. Then turned off some layers so he only saw the background (which is the actual maps), and extracted those ( pretty sure he just print screened them) Then he saved them as panoramas and imported them into the maker.

Bottomline, getting a chipset of the game will most likely be impossible. However, you can simply do it the same way those lazy bums did and simply use a background picture for every map.

It's kind of interesting, we saw so many ff7 fan games back in the days. Yet few people actually made the resources needed for it.

I suggest you taking contact with this guy btw, it seems like he created a bunch of graphics to match ff7's style.

I forgot about that guy, Vanit. I was always really impressed by his work. There was another guy he entirely recreated the menu system of ff7, including materia. Also had the only functional auto scroll in rm2k3 I had ever seen. Too bad it was only a youtube video and.how it was done was never explained.
