Post by: evmaster on June 14, 2013, 09:21:11 PM
Is there any rpg maker for ds or something? Other than PS or PC? Or a way to play your rpg maker on pc or on another system?

I searched google for "DS game maker" and found some homebrew thingy, also there was some official rpgmaker for playstation back in the days.

Not sure if RPGM is compatible with other systems though. Not too well versed in the arts of free programming to do something like that. I assume that there are lots of ways to make games withotu makers that could be teweaked to work with certai nsystems.

Nope, I guess theres a PS2 version and Xbox One will have something called Project Spark which looks simular to rpg maker.

That being said, there are some game engines out there that you can use to make games on your computer and play on other consoles. XNA is a framework to make games for all Windows devices including phones and the 360. Many people have built on top of that to make it much easier to work with. All of these options require coding knowledge though (which is very valuable to have anyway :) ).

Thanks for the replies. Really wish I could play the games I make on my GBA or 3Ds or something.

You could just homebrew GBA games and such on your own, but that takes a lot more programming knowledge than a maker such as this. With Hexes and stuff.

Again, a great skill that everyone should have ;)

I actually hacked my own character into a number of SNES games, made the games SOOO much better.

I hacked Pkmn emerald to consist of only metagross as random encounters and you start with a cleffa, igglybuff or togepi. Also, no pokeballs in shops.

So you turned a harmless fun game of pokemon into a game of pure evil? Niiiice.

Also, there IS in fact an rpgmaker for the DS. I don't know if it was ever translated into english though... Hell, lemme check...

Actually there is one for the GBA, but I have never found a rom or hard copy. Found loads of sprites on sites though. I think it's in Japanese only is why it's impossible to find. There was two on PS2. One is rumored to be awesome
and the other I own and I can tell you isn't, despite having 3-D Graphics built in. The former however I have never gotten my hands on. You can find it on Amazon.com though. Also I heard IG Maker was compatible with Xbox. It's files are supposed
to work on it as a feature in the advertising.
