Title: Your Demo's are pretty amazing :O
Post by: Communist_Gamer on January 18, 2015, 11:47:29 PM
I just browsed the Demo section and I realized I should make a Demo of my own and distribute it to some people I know for an analysis (I think I brake too many of the rules to post it here).
I tried experimenting with the Gamekey function; There isn't a problem of anything like that it's just I'm not sure how to send it to someone unfamiliar with RPG Maker (2K3) whatsoever and and how they could boot the game up.

Do they have to install RPG Maker themselves and move the gamekey into the RPG Makers?
Is there a way to get a startup function? (Like a .exe file that instantly boots the game?)

Do you mean the key input process or whatever it's called? (long time since I've used rpg maker)

I don't think you have to do anything special to get that to work on other people's computers. It should just work because all keyboards talk to the computer in the same way.

If you mean something else then I'm not sure.

As for the .exe, we tend to send the whole lot in a zip file, because you need all those resources to be on their computer. I don't remember if you can get anything more classy than that (there is that 'create gamedisk' function that tries to get you to put it on floppy disks so maybe there is a way)

Guessing this is about the gamedisc thing.

Basically, if you send what you have right now the person probably need rpgm to play it.
If you create a gamedisc version of the game, you'll create an install file. Then people can start it and unpack the game to a folder and stuff.
You could make the gamedisc and unpack it yourself, and send that folder to your friend. That way they will get the full game and won't have to go through the install.
