Title: Requesting graphics for a real game
Post by: nirium on February 26, 2015, 03:50:41 PM
Hello!

First of all. If this violates any rules by any means, I want to apologize in advance and you are free to delete this topic. I'm simply running desperate here :)

I'm currently making a 8bit styled platformer for PC/Mac/Android/iOS who's main goal is to reach Steam and later be placed on the mobile market. The idea for the graphics is old school like the NES era:ish where my inspiration comes from the new retro game "Castle in the darkness" which can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iIx_AFWGTc (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iIx_AFWGTc)

Since I'm pretty darn crappy at creating pixel graphics, I'm turning to you guys. I need help with the graphical part of the game process. Everything from characters, enemies, items to tiles, backgrounds and effects.

--About me--

I'm a 25 year old guy with a passion for games and programming. I actually think this very forum helped me shape the future I have now since RPGMaker was an awesome framework to help non-programmers shape their own world.

I currently work as a game developer on a company based in Stockholm Sweden and I do everything from Developer Support to creating web/native apps and even backend stuff.

If anyone is interested in this, feel free to PM me or so for further information. I will provide you with demos on a regular basis that shows the progress of the game itself.

Yours,
n1rium

Um, Nirium, bud? Nobody is going to do free graphics for a app for somebody else. Heck most of the indie makers and sprite hobbyists don't like to make our own graphics unless we are cornered into it ^^; Or a mood strikes us. Now if you offer somebody money you may have partner, but paying them reliably can be difficult online. We're not a very trusting bunch internet people. Half of us are paranoid and half of us are crooks! XD There's also the minor problem of currency exchange rates and a bunch of other stuff I think when exchanging money online from two separate nations.  I sympathize with you. I wanted to do Webcomics but I'm not very good at comic art so I proposed to try and find somebody to draw my story...alas still seeking to this day. ^^;
