Open beta this weekend. Go play it, it's phresh, phreaky and phun.
-
I still can't decide on Overwatch or Battleborn. They both seem to be fun Team Fortress inspired games
-
I feel so out of the videogame loop sometimes.
-
It's pretty fun, I guess. Bastion is a **** though.

I'm a bit of an fps junkie and this is scratching me in all the right places.

Battleborn is garbage. MOBA's should never really be FPS based. Overwatch has moba elements but its objectives are very classic arena shooter style. King of the kill, Payload, Attack and Defense.
Battleborn has minions, lanes, mercenary camps, cores, ect. Except battleborns HUD, viewmodels, framerates and controls are garbage.
Battleborn is 60 on PC, Overwatch is 40.

Someone sounds like they have a bias.

I like both companies equally. I played both Betas extensively.
Overwatch ran smooth and played smooth.
Battleborn's mechanics, menus, HUD, everything was awful.
Trying to upgrade your skill tree in the middle of combat cause the skill tree pops up when you level up,
and then sometimes your mouse just stops interacting with the HUD at all and you have to remember
your key shortcuts and just. Ugh it felt so bad.
I love mobas, but I feel like they should remain 3rd person like Smite and Gigantic. First person style gives you too limited of a view and viewmodels taking up vital screen space, its just clunky to play.

=D I'm not alone! I mean I've seen both Overwatch and Battelborn on DA an dknow not a clue as to what they are asside from video games.

Gonna be honest here and admit that I thought both games were hybrid dotas of some kind.

Nah. Overwatch is def more like TF2. With payload, KotH, its game mode is 6v6 (competitive tf2 is 6v6 also known as 6s.)
You can change classes whenever you want in Overwatch.
In Battleborn you have levels and exp, you're locked into your hero, you have mana as well.
-
Eh, you argue prices but Battleborn has more content. Isn't Overwatch just PVP modes?
From my understanding: Overwatch is geared towards those who want some quick and simple, face-paced games (~15 minutes?). Battleborn is more for those who want longer games with more depth (~30-40 minutes?).

Overwatch isn't even out yet, that'd explain why it has less content I think. There is also a Players vs. Bot Team mode, but it's stupidly easy to exploit in its current form since all the bots crowd together in clumps that can easily get knocked off cliffs by Pharah.
That said they've handled the beta excellently. Love the game from like the 2 days I got for the open beta (because I forgot it existed until the 2nd to last day.) I really do feel like OW benefits a lot by keeping the formula fairly simple.

I played the beta. It was fun, but not "buy TF2 for money and have to put up with Blizzard's horrific balancing" types of fun.
