Post by: Biscoitinho on September 01, 2020, 08:03:33 PM

I want to know if I can use charsets from Chara-project in my project.

I'm going to sell the game.

Should i credit chara.

What do i have to do?

You would probably need to credit the specific asset artists, which might be tricky if you're using the generator. It's also probably not ideal, as lots of assets are edits to graphics ripped from existing games. It's a bit of a minefield either way. I'm no lawyer, but I would personally advise against using these assets in a commercial product.

Is there some sort of list of the assets that aren't taken from games and that can be used without stepping on one of the legal mines out there?

Probably not,
Back in 2005ish when this was made there was no legal English translation for 2000 or 2003 so the option of selling the games wasn't a thing.
Most of the ripped items are named after the game and/or character it is from however.
