Title: Tips for Advanced RPG Maker Game Development
Post by: AnnoyingOrange on March 24, 2023, 10:16:00 AM
Hello everyone,

So I've been using RPG Maker for quite some time now. Over the years, I've learned a lot about game development and I'm here to share some tips with fellow RPG Maker enthusiasts who are looking to take their games to the next level.

First and foremost, I cannot stress enough the importance of planning your game before you start creating it. Create a game design document that outlines the story, characters, gameplay mechanics, and other important aspects of your game. This will help you stay focused and on track throughout the development process.

Another tip is to pay close attention to the pacing of your game. Too much exposition or too many battles can make the game feel tedious, while too little can make it feel uninteresting. Strike a balance between story and gameplay, and make sure that the pacing matches the mood and tone of your game.

When it comes to creating maps, I find that less is often more. Don't overcrowd your maps with too many details or it can be overwhelming for the player. Also, pay attention to lighting and shading to create an atmosphere and enhance the mood of your game.

Finally, don't be afraid to experiment with plugins and scripts to add new features or functionality to your game. There are many talented RPG Maker plugin developers out there who have created amazing tools that can enhance your game in countless ways.

And it all started on this forum  :D

Those are some great tips!

I agree that planning the game is the first step to success, not everything needs to be planned in detail, but a plan will make it easier to tell what to do.

Ah pacing, the problem that just about everything today struggles to deal with. I just want to support that last part, make sure that it suits the mood. This is also the reason most games did away with random encounters.

It's a bot, the link in their profile is to "Gaming gift cards".

I wonder why the go through the effort to chat-gpt generate a message and just hide the link on their profile instead of just spamming it.
