.AVI files not working

This is not necessarily a problem that I am having with a game I am making, but rather a problem with someone else's game that I have ran into.

The RPG in question is called Gulpy Gulpy, an entry for the Crappy Game Contest.  I have downloaded a few of the games there...though I ran into an error with Gulpy Gulpy, the error in question is that the .AVI files won't work on my computer, when a video is supposed to come up after the message "Bad guys are nearby, cutscene!" is displayed it just kicks me out of the game displaying an error message.

Does anyone here know of any way I could possibly fix this?  I tried asking the creator himself, but Zuhane said that he didn't know what the error could be, and suggested that I ask for help in this forum instead.  So here I am, I hope I can get past this problem as it seemed like a hilarious game and I would hate to have to stop playing due to a measly problem.  I thank you for your time if any of you help me out with this.

This absolutely makes no sense...

It works fine with me and I've never had to do anything specific.

I have no clue what it is either...and after looking in the movie folder, I realized I couldn't play the .avi files at all, it just shows up as audio...like, I can hear the sound just fine, but I can't actually see the video.

Try downloading the latest windows media player.

That's the only thing I could think of. But I thought RPG Maker had a built in .AVI player.

On a side note, look at how many new members were attracted by those crappy games.
