There's this old cartoon I can't quite remember.

 It had this main character, whose hair was black and looked like a duck's tail, upwards. He dressed in a square orange shirt, ( insofar as I remember, it could be green squares or orange stripes), his eyes were two small black dots with no white around them. He was slim, and his shirt was aways tucked below his belt, he aways wore black pants and black shoes.
 He had a pet fish, I believe, and quite a cast of other characters that I can't really put my finger on.
 I remember the opening to the show was REALLY weird, I just don't remember how.

 

 The only thing I remember cleary was this one episode, where the dude was part of an orchestra and was late to the great performance, so he rushed through all of the city, dodging everything that's out to kill him, reaches the Orchestra just as it's finishing it's act, dramatically jumps in the air and before falling, plays his solo: A single "ting" into a cow bell. I can't remember anything else, but it aired into Cartoon Network, late at night (at least around here)

 There was this other scene from another episode which was about someone doing a surgery to remove their Amygdalas, and in the end this same guy had to do it in an emergency because he was suffocating.






 This is freaking me out. I NEED to know the name of this cartoon or I'll go crazy. I didn't even like it, I just want to remember the name of it.

 The first option. I expect it to be pretty obscure.

I've checked a long list of cartoons and didn't see anything that might look like this.
It's weird, because it somehow remind me something (especially the cowbell thing) but at the same time, I'm pretty sure I've actually never saw this cartoon... yes, it happens sometime.
But maybe I did see it.

Maybe more informations could help, if you have any others.
And maybe... if you could try to draw the character with MS Paint or whatever to see what he looks like, as in the art style and such... maybe that could help too.

My MS paint skills are horrible, add that to the fact I only remember the guy as if he was standing in teh middle of a mist of forgetfullness and you'd get an horrible misleading picture.
