Is there a way to use 2 tilesets/chipsets on the same map?

There are tricks you could employ, I guess.

For instance, you could use the "Change Map Tileset" command and make an event that changes the map tileset when you reach a certain location. However, you'd probably want to avoid chips visibly changing on-screen.

A situation I can imagine this working in is MissingName's giant world map. Using multiple worldmap chipsets with the same water tile, it would be possible to construct a multiple-tileset map with tileset-switching events that activate invisibly while you're sailing through very large (As in, screen-encompassing) areas of sea. As long as you don't mind that kind of thing, and there is no land connecting any different tileset area, I see no problem in doing something like that.

Of course, you'd need to keep switching chipsets in the editor in order to make the different areas. And trying to use events that move when not on-screen would be... problematic.

Tried that.  It worked to a small degree.  It used a lot of separate chipsets, to make the change less noticeable.  Like 30 changed only slightly.

It's not worth it.

There's a slight screen flicker.  At least for me, there is.
