Any chance that some of the old problems might be fixed is wonderful news. I'll probably buy it though sadly I reckon my days of using it are pretty much over.

1.2. For commercial** use, registration must be completed by sending an e-mail to registration@rpgmakerweb.com with the following information:
Name
E-mail or physical address where you may be reached
Website (own or affiliate) where your project is sold/carried
Order number / Proof of Purchase

** Commercial use is identified as income generated from the product. This includes direct sale of product itself or any of its parts, crowd-funding campaigns, ad-generated income or subscription services that are built around the product created with SOFTWARE.

It also said something about the RTP (RPGmaker runtime package) but I didn't bother to read it

Okay, so all the RTP used in an old project is removed if it changed name. In my version I had "Breath" and then "Breath1", the latter one is called "2003 Breath" in the new version.

Heal is called recovery, effectively removing all graphics and sounds related to those resources. So if you attempt to run an old project, whenever one of those RTP files appear - the game will crash.

Okay first thing I realized is that the font is changed

Also, the battle screen isn't expanded to fit your resolution, instead it is surrounded by a black border.

And if you press F5, the screen becomes blurry (for some reason), also, everything is shown in twice the size (as in, one "pixel" in a screenshot is 16 pixels once you open it)

They also changed some of the names of the characters noone use anyway, but some people were somehow upset by this

And this new version of common events and battle events is pretty nice.

Um, stupid question. But how do I move files manually in a folder in Windows 7? I can sort them in several stupid ways but I can't seem to move them around as I wish...

Jeez! I never tried before, but I can't work it out either! Does google not know? Surely it'd be madness to stop you manually arranging things completely!

Yeah I had the same reaction. I was trying to line the resources up for the different versions for people to see what names changed and so on if they wanted to convert their unofficial projects to officials.

The changelist explains alot. Apparently, a bunch of the fixes are temporary. Not sure why they released it without smoothing out all the bugs, but newer versions are forthcoming. They've already released an update.

Hey, if big game developers can do that, why shouldn't indie game making software?  *joke*

Just a small update, too many pictures at the same time doing different things still affect the flow of the game. I had 10+ pcitures showing on different coordinates and some of them were rotating from side to side while another expanded and shrinked back and forth.

Well, the nice thing is that with constant updates that stuff can be eventually fixed.  My biggest worry with constant updates is that using a broken mechanic that gets fixed will ruin any timed events or a work around now would work differently.  I mean, I would still rather have software that works correctly, but right now it might be wise to avoid maker mechanics with known issues.

Enterbrain writes new EULA allowing legal patches of rm2k3

Well... I'm honestly really surprised that this ended up being a thing. I thought for sure that Enterbrain would pass.

That's great. 'Cuz enterbrain didn't seem to have any intention to update the software any time soon.

It's not a matter of intention. It's rather a matter of my time and availability, because I'm still the only one who is able to do RM2k3 updates. After all, the source code was lost so we can only do hacks.

Sorry for that, but there is an update coming up in the very near future. Stay tuned.

I've seen an update for the Steam version was released, do any of you know when the update for the stand alone version will be released (and if there will be any, it does not look like you can update it from the menus...)?
