I made a new maker - makes games like Baldur's Gate 1

EDIT: I forgot to say something really important here. I made my maker sound like a Hack and slash game maker. My maker is created to make games like BALDUR'S GATE 1 (but not BG2). Almost everything possible in baldur's gate is also possible in my maker: story, events, dialogs, combats, freedom with some linearity. The only limitation I see is the number of characters (6). And it makes these games easily... have I already said that??? :p
Another thing... I made this Editor from scratch in Darkbasic professionnal, it is not a modified version of RPG maker. I say this because some think that i modified RPG maker to make mine and this is not true. I almost not use rpg maker anyway, but i know what it does.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have created and programmed a maker on my own. I wasn't happy with the ones that were on the internet already, I found them too hard to use, and turn-by-turn battles make me sick, so I made my own the way I like them. I used charas.ex to make characters for the editor, and thought that other people that would like to do their own characters for their games in my maker would make them easily with that tool.
So I programmed it. And it's finished, even if I make updates almost every day. It's on the internet since... about 5-6 days, it's downloaded about 10 times a day but I've got no feed-back. I know you guys like to create RPGs, and my game engine is Freeware, so you could try it and tell me what you think about it. Here is a short description of what I think is different from RPG Maker 2003:
Pros
Creates games like Baldur's gate
Complex and deep stats system
Fast real time battles
Make games faster (some hours for a demo)
Can make hack and slash games in hours
Stories are very easy to script
Create whole maps is some clicks
Create and change almost anything in seconds
Creates non-linear games very easily
Cons
Real time battles... for those who don't like it
Battle system is not customisable
You cannot make scenes where characters move around
Graphics are not as good.
There is no battle animation
Sounds are not very customisable
In the end, there is one big difference. I think that my tool is faster and easier to use but can make games with less quality.
I know all of you use and love RPG maker, and someone comparing his creation to RPG maker is ... somewhat pretencious, but whatever
I'll try to dodge the rocks
At first I made this for myself, a game maker that was really easy to use, then I thought it was good enough for being on the internet, and seeing other makers (except RPG maker) that are very hard to use and to learn for the little results... so here it is.
The link is here:

So if you have comments, or you wish to tell me that rpg maker is 1000 times better than mine and to shut up, cool
I would like your comments, and if you like it I would like to know.
My rpg maker is not a replacement to Rpg maker, but... something different for different persons and games. Made for those who don't have lots of time to put in a game and want to make more non-linear exploration games, but who don't mind less graphical quality.
And I hope it's ok to post publicity for my maker here, I don't know if it break the rules.
I hope to have feed-back soon. Thanks...

Personally, I would stick with RPGMAKER.
But I commend you in being able to make a maker by yourself ^^ great job!

The Pros dont beat the Cons for me so I'm sticking with RpgMaker.
But nice job on coding your own maker.

I used darkbasic... it took me 3 1/2 months to make it. The graphics are... darkbasic graphics
I don't really know... it uses DirectX 9.0.
But for those who decided to stick to RPG maker... I didn't mean you to leave rpg maker.... just to try mine to make another type of games.

I'm impressed. Looks decent.
That must have been 3 1/2 months of non-stop coding. I'm more of a casual, take-your-time code monkey. :p

Thanks Drington, the 3 months are 1 month of non-stop programming, then I stoped for about one year, took it back for 2 weeks non-stop again, stoped again and this summer from end of june to now... it's not 3 months in a row.
And thanks Blackskull and leon, even if you don't try my Maker

I noticed that all of your image files are bitmaps. You could save a lot of space by converting them all to PNGs, and having your editor support both BMPs and PNGs. Of course, I don't know how difficult that would be, but it might be an idea to try it out.

It's a good idea warxe, I would do that... if I could. I am limited with Darkbasic professionnal restrictions, it can take png but cannot create png. and the tools to create images for my game can only create bmp. but with a little... 1 hour i could make it accept png. I will make it soon. Thanks for the idea warxe.

You should add 'legal' to the pros list
Anyway, it took enterbein a whole team of people an a lot more time to make their maker, its pretty impressive that you did it by yourself in that amount of time.
Question: Will games made with this be stand alone? or will the player have to have some sort of rtp to run it?
Either way I probably won't use it, I already started my game with rpg maker, so I'm just gonna stick with it instead of restarting it on a new maker

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

Thanks DragonBlaze.
It cannot make stand alone games, sorry. But... I could make a program that will take only one game file with a predetermined file name(not let you choose a game between many) with a custom starting screen. That would make almost a stand-alone game, at least look like one.
