1000 Year's ago Cloud stoped Shinra from taking over the world.
Now Shinra is back and they started the next revolution.
SeeD's are tring to stop Shira but Shinra is to powerful.
The main hero is Sky he want's to stop the revolution befor any one eles dies(his dad died).

What Wildguy means, is that you could change the names and such a bit and get a nearly original game.

For example:

Shin-Ra could still be a weapons company (That is what it was originally, but then it started exploiting Mako and became an energy company), but what if it made WMD's, like atomic bombs and stuff? Then people would be a lot more motivated to destroy it, especially if it started fighting with another powerful country/company.

The SeeDs could still be trained mercenaries, but how about changing their names a bit? And instead of being hired to do stuff, maybe they just step in whenever there's a conflict between two countries, like a worldwide police force.


You could even keep the same name of the project, but changing a few elements could result in a much more original (and possibly better) game. Of course, if you want to make an FF7/8 crossover game, that's your choice.

Hehe, I just got done playing both FF7 and FF8, its been a while since I've played 10 though...

Anyway, SeeD's purpose is to stop the sorcoress, which is why they were founded. In other times, they act like mercinaries for their funds. Point being, its not really like them to attack Shin-ra for their own reasons, someone would have to hire them to do so. Now that I think about it, this paragraph doesn't have much of a purpose :p

Second, I wouldn't use Shin-ra. No one is gonna revive a company that has been dead for 1000 years. Besides, Shin-ra used mako energy, if 1000 years have past, I'd think the use of that kind of energy would simply be banned, or more likely a better source of power has been made. Well they also made wepons, so you could play around with that, but I'd still go with a new name, or at least shorten the time period from 1000 to lets say 100 (or whatever).

Third, you're oldest hero is 15. You have one high school freshmen, then a couple of 7th and 8th graders. I don't think they're gonna stand up to a world super-power. Besides, I don't see anyone becoming a SeeD at the age of 14 (or younger). I think in FF8 someone did it at the age of 16, but that was considered really young, I can't remember correctly though.

Anyway, this sounds a bit iffy to me. This could turn out to be a cool game, but there is a lot of stuff you need to work on first.

I would suggest  trying to make a fangame of Final Fantasy II, that has to be one of the best in the series.

Ok. A: are you talking about the japan one or the american only release (aka ff 4 in japan) B: ff 2/ff4/whatever clearly wasn't the best. Most people say 7 was, though I disagree. I think that seven had a great battle system, and one of the coolest spells ever (knights of the round) but other then that I didn't think 7 was that great. It really had nothing to do in it other then the arcade place, and that had only about 4 games.

To me 3 and 9 were the best. Three's plot was just extrodinatory, and nine's gameplay was really likeable too. 8 was ok, but because of the magic system (aka drawing) and the summons plus magic junctioning, and the fact that monsters level up with you made the gameplay really suck. Great plot, crappy play.

But that's aside from the point. I just think that people should stop using cloud in there games. If they want to make a ff game, go ahead, but just DON'T USE CLOUD! It's like this, if you made a zelda game without link, then you could basically say that it's an original game with the save the girl plot. Just like that, all you have to do is switch the people you play and wella, you have your own game. Because no ff (aside from ffX2   ) continues off the last, it would be an original game. Thus, you'd have your own game with only the name in common. Thus people won't look at it and think "I have to play as that sissy Cloud again?" or "not another fan game!"

Well I was talking about Final Fantasy 2, not 4. And I hope you ARE talking about Final Fantasy 3, since it is sickening to see too many people insult Final Fantasy 3 by using that name to refer to 6. But I must agree IX was at least one of the best.

Final Fantasy 3 was never on the SNES. It is merely an insult that they refer to 6 as 3. And yes I am talking about the real FF2. It is a beautiful game, but sadly enough underrated.
knightsky, have you ever played that one? It is certainly worth playing in my opinion. Maybe you should try making a game like that. But of course, it is your choice.
