Heck, they've been pulling this one for years now. And it's still a dumb idea any which way you look at it, magnetism? Ultrasonic waves? I remember that commercial, it was a joke. It's like War of the Worlds, at the time everybody believed they were being invaded by martians. They say "Ultrasonic Waves" will be the thing that triggers yatta yatta yatta, can anybody tell me what ultrasonic waves are?

We’re not going to read too much into it right now (namely because there are a lot of patents out there that have no true correlation to reality) but a Sony researcher by the name of Thomas Dawson filed patent on Sony’s behalf for a “transcranial magnetic stimulation” device that would beam sensory input to a person’s brain via ultrasonic pulses. Sony was quick to note that no experiments had been conducted with the technology—so it’s not much more than theory right now. Thanks, Sony, for making us wonder if we’re all really just brains in jars in Sir Howard Stringer’s office compound.

So there you have it. All sci-fi and theory right now.

But there's the thing - you don't know better. Until you, yourself, (and by this I mean don't go around trusting the words of people who came from the future) go into the future and come back to the present, you in reality have [GLOW]NO[/GLOW] idea what the future will hold!
