A Comedy Of Errors
« on: March 30, 2006, 10:18:09 PM »
Ok I know that for the while ive been on charas I havent made very many succsesful games but I have a game that I can make it is a play written by shakespear that I think could be a good game, Its called
"A Comedy Of Errors"  This play or as Im making it into a game this game has 4 main characters and it will be confuzing.

Syracusian characters:

Dromio:  The son of merchants from siracuse adopted by Agien an old man,  He is also the servent of Antipholus He will be one of the people you can play as...

Antipholus: A wealthy merchant from Syracuse and son of Ageon.  A main character who joins your party.

Ageon:  He is being held prizoner in Ephesis  Well hes being held prizoner because people from Syracuse are not aloud in Ephesis.  He is looking for his two long lost sons.
Ephesisians:
Dromio: A servent of Antipholus of Ephisis he does not know his parents.  He also is a main character.
Antipholus: A wealthy merchant in Ephisis he has not met his father or seen his long lost brothers for seven years but he still has his servant brother Dromio.

The story is split Ive decided that at the begging you can pick wether to be from Syracuse or ??????.  Well anyway at the beggining the people from ???? are surrounding the duke as he announces that Ageon is to be beheaded unless he pays a ransom of 1000 gold,  If you choose to be from ?????? then you are in the croud but If you choose to be from Syracuse you are down the street avoiding the coppers... This game is set in the 1500's.

I hate to ask people but does anyone know a cattipiller code or whatever to use so that both characters are on at alll times?

I have a catapiller system if you need it. I made it so that it doesn't matter which event is the catapiller event (with some catapiller systems, event numbers 1, 2, and 3, have to be the catapiller events). So yeah, if you already started making events on maps, theres no need to worry.

This is only for the first char that follows the hero, the other chars need slightly differant scripts, i have them if you need them.

Note that theres a custom pattern of phasing mode on for the char so that he won't block your path ever.

I'm currently too lazy to write down the script, so I'm just posting a screen of it, if you don't understand, just let me know and I can explain it in some detail.

charas might show the pic resized to 320 x 240 or some smaller size that'll make reading it more difficult, if so, right click on the image, select proporties, copy the adress, and paste it in your internet adress bar, hit enter, and the image should apear in full size (if you didn't know that already :p)

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

Are you leaving the dialogue intact? They did that for the movie 'Titus' (an adpation of Shapspeare's 'titus andronicus') and it worked wonderfully with other changes they made.
