Allright then...

If a guy took porno pictures, and grafted other images into it, not meant as satire...
Stricly for the sake of provoking a subconcious response from the audience, it would then be considered art.
The photographer defiantly takes his job as a muff-clicker seriously. Hes setting up lights, and all that...The scene.....
So on one end of the porn, it is art, in a sense.
But the subject matter renders it UN-arted.

Its wierd. Theres so much grayscale to this.

Its easy for somebody to say "No thats not art, its meant to get people off.." but to somebody out there, it IS art. And sickly enough, Dahlmer thought what he was doing was art too. And the guy who designed the nike Logo, was an artist.

So basically, what Im getting at, is as such:

Art is what you percieve it as.

If you, the conneseur, sees it as Garbage...Its garbage, right?
If you see it as art, its art.

Right?



Now think about this...
This scenario im about to mention has happened a few times.

A woman gets her four year old to scribble on a piece of paper.
The woman signs her name to it, and displays it, calling it her own, abstract art...she made all kinds of money.

People ranted on about "its so raw! what beautifull art"
And in one of the scenarios, I remember the woman had legal ramifications to deal with....

And then it was no longer art. It was fraud.


So what the hell gives, right? What makes art art?
I dont think its possible to answer that there question.
You know what I think?
Art is dead. Hes in my basement.

I think its all up to you what you see as art.


Satirical pornography is a form of art, so whos to say, to some, a black and white photo of a 40 year old obese woman getting fisted is not art. SOmebody out there will say its not. And somebody will say it is.
You cant win. but then again, you cant lose either. Art is what you make of it.
