The end of the world
« on: February 27, 2007, 04:30:57 AM »
Out of all the possible outcomes how exactly will the world end? Global warming is still on the rise, but even then the effects wouldn't kill out the ENTIRE human race. Some people spectate that the human race will cease to exist because of bacteria & viruses. (AIDs, STDs, flu.. etc..) People also spectate that the world will end via man destroying itself.

How do y'all think the world will end?

(Please excuse my Southern American talk :P.)

The world won't end because of desiese. Natural selection will prevent that.

The world won't end because of global warming. We're still coming out of the ice age, the earth goes through this cycle every 100,000 years or so, things will go on.

Man destroying themselves may be a good idea, but before it comes to that, we'll probably do something about it. We won't go to a nuclear winter because no one is stupid enough to start a nuclear war.

The world won't end. IF you believe in christianity, you can believe that god will end the world. Otherwise, the most likely cause for the end of the world would be some form of natural desaster such as a comet.

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

Heres my theory...

The world/human race wont come to an end.
Life will change. But not end. For christ sake, we can live through Ice ages, we are the most adaptable creature ever....we have opposable thumbs.

Godzilla would be sweet though

Pretty much makes as much sense. It was a joke. Barney's song goes "I love you, you love me." Apparently you didn't catch that I was makeing a parody of that. Or were busy using some hard to understand minced English and capitalizing words for... who knows what reasons.

Look!

*sigh* I hate having to explain a joke then some random guy gives me a hard time about it, usually with minced English. Last guy that did that stuff to me was Kairou. He had as much of a humour gland as a lump of clay. -_- Very... very... dull...

It is a pet peeve of mine.

I just felt criticized. If you didn't mean it that way. Ok. But try to make that clear next time because it seemed that way. O_o There are many ways to interpret a message.

A) No. Although I respect where you're coming from, you have your facts rather broken. Under the circumstances that every last human is killed, that species would become extinct. Presumably eventually the environment would return to normal (that alone would take a long time) and become a paradise for animals.

Under the circumstances that we have a repeat of the dinosaurs (gigantic collossal space junk, killing most life on the planet), then assumably after millions of years, life would eventually evolve from these small cells, but they would not be human. Nature does not work that way. Think of how dinosaurs are the ancestors of modern day birds, except that's a really bad example because of how dinosaurs evolved and stuff and I really just wanted to mention how cool that is.

In summary, cells do not work that way.

B) Actually that will take 4-5 billion years. Good news is that with the expansion, the sun will lose some mass and, by the time the sun's expansion reaches where Earth is, the Earth will have moved back a bit, escaping its horrible wrath sort of.
The bad news is that regardless of this escape, the water would have been evapourated by the horrible horrible burning.
The worse news is that humanity by then would most likely have been removed entirely.

Apparently, around my 56th birthday or so, a giant space rock is going to **** us up anyway. 2043~ I think.

YAY DOOMSDAY!

How many times have people claimed the world would end by now? Sheesh... you'd think people would get tired of predicting uncertain doom.
