Halo's never appeared on a Nintendo console, so there's no way Sakurai will put him in.

If you look at the third-party (potential) newcomers... Metal Gear started on the NES (and Twin Snakes on the Cube), Sonic's crossing over with Mario in the upcoming Olympic Games (and has appeared on the GBA, GCN, DS and Wii) CastleVania started on the NES and has had a lot of games on Nintendo consoles (except for those Genesis ones and SotN), Megaman has been primarily on Nintendo consoles (except MM8 and X 4-8), Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest have had about half their games on Nintendo consoles (and FF crossed over with Mario in Mario Hoops 3on3, and Dragon Quest's crossing over with Mario in some game I can't remember), and PacMan's crossed over with Mario in Mario Kart GP.

And besides, Sakurai has a no guns rule; so if Master Chief was included, what would he fight with?

At 1:13 you see Zero Suit Samus laying over Master Chief in what looks to be Super Smash Brawl.
I could be wrong though.

No, no, no. That was a 3D animation that had Samus fighting against Chief in a ridiculous fantasy battle. Not official at all.

I think it was actually a bit of a satire piece as well, poking fun at the other animators that made similar, fantasy battles against two characters they liked. Yeah. In the animation shown, it was revealed that Chief was apparently a girl.

X4,5 and 6 appeared on the gamecube in the collection disk. Hopefuly that counts.

If there would be one more 3rd party, I would ask for Megaman. Then i'd see the game as trully perfect.
