TV has tried "charity": case in point: Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. I did a paper analyzing the ad campaigns et cetera embedded in it, and suffice to say, like most silly things like that, it's all about producers getting money. And, surprisingly enough, even if all the money in game shows et cetera were sent to impoverished countries, people would still starve.
I'm personally against a country messing with another's circumstances, at least going in and messing with them. It usually results in unstable governments and economies for the country being "helped", and frankly presents a view from the other country of "We're better than you. Now stop what you're doing and let us handle it", which just undermines everything.
And yes, I believe that's what Mid said. Let them do their happy little.... whatever.

But the thing is.. sometimes even if another country doesn't get involved... there will still be greedy, corrupt, w/e.. governments. It's not something that can be helped... Like Cuba or the old S.U. or North Korea.. Sometimes it looks like another country is the bigger issue, but it's usually an internal conflict. Usually..

I dunno.. I mean ppl are naturally nosey.. we have the tendency to meddle in others affairs. It's a habbit, mabbe a bad one.. mabbe a good one. But ya really can't just say it's america who does it. I mean, if you hear strange noises coming from your neighbor's house.. eventually you'll get curious and might start spying from behind your curtains.

As am I, but at this point in time, I understand that to rehaul an entire government, evn intoi a successful one, would be near impossible.
