Wallpaper problem
« on: November 30, 2007, 05:40:10 AM »
I'm working on a computer, and well the wallpaper is blank. It won't let me change it at all and when I try to go to display settings and modify it, the box is blank. I tried to set a background by right clicking on an image, and nothing happened when I selected the option for 'set as desktop background'. I tried reinstalling the graphics driver, but that didn't work at all.

I attached a screen of whats going on.

From what the picture shows, seems to be WINXP. Of course, that could be Aston or WindowBlinds, too.

Yeah its windows XP (media edition). It's not my computer, so I don't know all to much about it.

Yeah, windows is pretty much a piece of **** compared to other OS's; however, I still love it because everything is made for windows, and its just a lot easier to work with it because everything is pretty much designed for it.

I have to agree with you on that one. Even if windows is a piece of crap most of the time, it's the easiest to work with and it's the system that has the most support for everything. However, I do have a deep dislike for MAC, it just sucks, it's all show. The best OS out there is Linux.

*Sigh* Linux. I'm part of a computer club at my university, and we have our own room with around 20 computers wired in it. Half the people in our group are huge linux fans, so most of those computers have linux on them. I think the only two computers that we have windows on are a computer wired with 6 graphics cards and in turn 6 monitors, and another which we just use as a tv on a 21 inch monitor.

[RANT]To me, Linux is like a cult. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the OS (in fact, I plan to learn how it works one day and possibly switch over to it), but it's like every person in the world who has it wants to brag about it, down-talk everyone who doesn't have it, and act superior because they do have it. Not to mention the whole converting thing. It's a lot like Mac stuff and atheism. I'm getting a bit sick of hearing so much from these people, but it doesn't mean I disagree with the product. Except for Mac. I really don't want an iPod.
