My Current Project

While waiting for the Chain game to come my way, I thought I'd announce some game details for the project I'm working on now.
The working title is Strangers to the Sands.

I'm trying to make it a short yet epic Movie game, where you Choose things instead of Using the Default Battle, So far for the demo I'm planning there is one Fight scene  that takes place on a ship.

So I'll start laying down some details.

Cast

Benzo
Deckhand of a Private Waterway trade company employed by the Government.

Annie
Captain of the Queens Guard Knights, She has been tracking down the Pirate group responsible for the attacks on the waterway trade route.

Rubin
A flamboyant soldier who joins Annie as a Personal assistant

Development

Since I want it to be like a movie, I'm putting a lot of work into the sets. As you can see from the screens I'm using Another game's Map editor for the Outside maps.

-The Characters are Rinnest Style,
-The music is Mp3 and a combination of Gather music and my own
-Some maps are animated

I dunno what else to say.. The battles are all choice driven, You can choose two
actions for each Character and when you do your actions along with the enemies actions will be Played out, than you get to make two more actions and so on
(Ex. Duck behind Barrel, Fire Rifle.  ....  Run to enemy, Slash at enemy.)










Plot

This world's era is like the colonial era of earth. Musketeers guard Victorian styled Ships, There are 117 countries and we are in the Country Calithia, It is ruled by a Governent and the Queen is more or less a figure head rather than a power.
The Government of Calithia as well as its neighboring Country Marxees, report attacks on their trade routes by A Pirate group known as the Green sleeves. After several months of the Governments Investigations into the Issue there had been no success in stopping the Greensleeves attacks, so The Queen sent her most trusted Captain of the the Queens Guard, Annie, To conduct her own Investigation.


The Demo should be out Before April, Its just going to be the first Chapter of 4 or 5 with one fight scene in it and the grand introduction to the Games real story at the end of it.

So, I realize that there isn't much information but I don't want to say too much, because I hate when people tell me about a movie before I see it

Cool, thanks. Yeah the battle system is going to be pretty intense.
Right now I'm working on Poses, I've decided the Characters are going to blink
and are going to have a lot of poses Via Character sets and as battle Animations.

This sounds great. Since this is a short game, will there be a demo or just a full release?

There will be a Demo of the First chapter (Of 4 or 5)
I don't know when it will be done But I'm guessing around March

How do you mean, "Match"?

I'm using one style Of Charactersets and Using maps all for the same game.
Unless you mean The 3rd screen, The Character is Side view and the map looks more top down.

Once I noticed that, I changed the Map

I think he means that the charsets stand out too much from the maps, but I like it... You don't wanna get to the point where the charsets merge with the backgrounds like FF7 or something.

...that reminds me of those backgrounds that are like a background image, and make up the bottom of the map. lol
