Slow movement, slow attacks, and horrible recovery from hits, And His smash requires him to hit you...since on big stages you can run away, any experienced user would find that easy to dodge.

And Marth's Critical hit FTW

Everything is balanced as long as you know the character you're playing and the character you're fighting.

Ike= Good for beginners, one misstake from the opponent will lead to their death(A+</>).

Lucas=Good against beginners, they never know what hits them( A+^ A+V).

Snake=Good against people who got an awful memory, mines, C4, grenades, just throw them around a bit and you're bound to hit.

As for final smashes.
Bowsers: He gets huge, he gets larger range, he gets more power. But it's actually really easy to avoid all of his attacks since they become so slow. And just hanging on the edge saves your ***. Large stages+ Giga bowser= sorry.
Wario: A lot better than giga bowser if you ask me, no recovery rate after the attacks, you can jump endlessly, fart as much as you want and the bike is a pure hit n' run. Meeting someone with controll as garlic man is deadly, dodging is what saves your *** mostly and of course grabbing the edge.

Landmaster: Pain in the ***, they charge you, they do barrel rolls and shoot you. Landmasters on small stages(where the cannon takes up half the stage) is ridicolus. You better just grab the edge and stay there. They can be avoided, but ducking from the cannon won't save you from the charge. And remember that you can't dodge roll past them.

The 1hit-ko's:
Marth: If used in the air, he will dash forward a long time, so missing this will kill poor marth. If used on the ground, same rules apply but he will stop at the first edge he hits.
Ike: It's not as 1-hit ko as Marth's, large stage and a heavy character will save your arse. And for the usage, dodge rolling and jumping usually makes it miss. Makes me happy at least. It just hits a little bit in front of him anyway.
Link and toon link: It's happened a couple of times, that even if I stand behind him, I get hit. So don't. He rushes a bit forward, kinda like Ike. If you die or not is usually determined where on the stage you are, the damage and the size. I've survived a couple of times, not that common as I may wish though.
Shiek and Zelda: This, is lovely. Hits right a scross the screen, through walls and everything. Unless you got a wall behind you and are ready with the L/R button you'll probably die, you can make it though with the things mentioned above. One thing that bugs me, if two people are standing next to each other; one of them can be blasted into the other and lose speed. Makes them survive.

Well, that's enough for my "smart-*** education". I've just realised that every smash can be avoided, as long as you know what can happen. Meeting a ROB who is smart enough to taunt on the other hand can be quite annoying but I can live with it. Just hates when people get "Sympathy balls" and start with the final smash after being killed. Happens all the time when I fight Snake or Sonic.

I never use the Smash Balls. I've never been a fan of insta-kill items and weapons in my games (and Final Smashes, for the most part are insta- or near-insta-kill). You either get a free kill, which isn't fun, or you get killed with no effort.

a simple down dodge can negate 90% of all final smashes.

I wouldn't say that Lucas is good against beginners... I mean, most people know Ness's moveset pretty well.

I would say that Lucas was basically an improvement on Ness. Lucas is slower and easier to fling, but his attacks have a greater range and power. Plus, gotta love the more spammable b-set moves.

Now, honestly, I find Sonic to be one of the hardest characters to fight when controlled by a human. The speed, randomness, and above all: the superior smash attack. It is basically a combo of Pikachu's and a landmaster, and it is pretty hard to survive.

When I for kicks pull out my Brawl disc to kick one of my buddies that prefers Brawls ***, he always plays Sonic, and the running speed can be annoying because of you cant even shieldgrab him and stuff like that. But all in all I think sonic is pretty predictable, keep your spacing decently and its all good. Works for me anyways.

A few of the amazing things I've done include

1: hitting a smash ball as marth while flying off the screen...then using it before I fall off and come back and kill Captain Falcon
2: In Super SD me and link waited it out till the Bom-Ombs start spawning, I get hit and het get's hit...but he goes sideways and I go into the fallback screen so he dies first
3: SSD me and ike...we sit there running around 3d dodging and blocking...so I decide to face away from him and do his speaking taunt(
BTW he says Everybody, look at me!) in Japaneses. And he does ikes charge..I counter at the last millisec to kill him
4: It's down to me and lucas, He jumps half-way off the edge and hits a smash ball. (If he got it off their was no way  I was living)
so I throw a pit fall at him and to my suprise He falls straight to his death.

I usually turn off every item, I'm sick of charging a smash attack and having a blast box spawn in front of me and that stuff. Okay, call me silly, but It've happened to me so many times during classic, all-star, bossbattles and the multi man brawls that it makes me sick.

And smash balls is usually a nono, I got a friend who always get it, most times, by luck(or pk thunder/aether/sonic snake B^) but he always get it and get like 2-6 cheap kills.

But Ness and Lucas A moves are rather different, especially the smashes that kills, while Ness uses the lame yoyo, Lucas got the force to wipe out his enemies.

But it's all about taste, I prefer Lucas myself, never liked Ness much.
It's like i used to prefer Roy over marth before I learned about the "use the tip" thingy.

And Sonic's final smash, I actually find it easier than Pikachu's, Pikachu can stop and make that "electric shock" thingy while Sonic only dashes back and forth and along the ground/walls/roof. And most people can't control Sonic's as well as Pikachus(since Pika's goes through the stage). But it's just personal taste, find it easier to dodge, Pikachu gets so friggin big.

Ever since I played a game where a Smash Ball spawned within the first ten seconds, and I lost all three lives over the next thirty, I refuse to play with them on.

Goddamn that is the worst thing. Played the final co-op event as Ike, bomb-omb appears mid-air LITERALLY  in the path of the arc of my sword.

Too true, especially for Pitt. His has to be the easiest to dodge, especially in multiplayer.

Worst brawl moment:
15min brawls, me= marth.

There are 3 of them left, random bombs, spiky things, gang-bangs and meta knights got me up to 123%.
I find a ball of poke, throw it. I get the bastard Metagross. I'm thinking all "yeah, ****ing finally, will beat this crap in the end" and walks into his protection.
What happens? A bomb/goey bomb/mine/ blast box/hell even a capsule. Something explodes right above me (thanks to his earthquakes) and I died big-time.

Other moments: Trying to get the meta ridley trophy in SSE. I got my trophy stand, his health is low, just waiting for him to pass over me or at least a bit away from the edge. He does the swipe thing, there is a green shell that gets hit and slides over and hit him 0,5 secs later and he died.
Now, this might just be bad luck, but I tried so many times with it that you get kind a bored of it.

And as for Pits Final smash... I hate it because it's so random, I prefer Star storm actually, they are easier to spot and move away from if the stage isn't as broad as two meteors together.

other annoying final smashes: Snake. It shouldn't be a problem, I can counter them, but meeting my freind as snake and then give him a smash ball will result in your death. Sometimes even twice. I don't know how he does it, but he reads me like a book, knows where I'm gonna go and stuff.
Negative zone: For some reason, I'm always inflicted with "sleep", and after that, the bastard always goes near me and do the B^. Just hate it, pretty useless on a larger stage though.

Blue falcon: I actually hate avoiding this, 'cuz if you are in front of him when he presses B, you're hit. You are his even before the racer comes from the rear to bounce you into the 3d scene.'
The beast: This one is annoying, a lot. You can get hit even if you are behind the guy, just like that *wham* dies. Just trying to be near an edge is usually a good idea.

Pitt's Final Smash summons several cherubs that home in on enemies, right? The homing is still weak--with enough dodging, you can escape them all. With a lot of players on the screen, some will fly to one, one to another, etc. It's a mess; the cherubs just fly off screen in the general direction of one player.
