I'm pretty sure it IS illegal. There either hasn't been anyone who's actually fallen for this scam and made a lawsuit; or they avoid calling EVERY SINGLE government worker.

I'm just curious when it's going to be my third warning.

Holy crap, I get that call all the time.

And I just today got a letter saying the warranty on my car is about to expire. But it's a used car and the warranty expired a long time ago. The letter itself looks legit, but it's probably just a clever fake.

I don't get that call.

What I do get is some call from a dude in Florida, saying that since I've been such a good customer to Claro, I'm gonna get a free digital camera/cruise if I stay on the line.

Fun fact: My sister did one of those to our grandma as a prank--my grandma didn't recognize her, and hung up.
