Well the way mine is set up, its similar to the DBS, but not at the same time. To make it easier on me, it calls a database event that has the information for every monster.  In regular battles, it decides the number of enemies, then using the information I give it in the battle event, it calls information for certain enemies.  This way its not a completely different event for every enemy, and its all in one event.  I only have to call the same variables, and the database event does the rest.

Here is how it works in a better description (I think)
I have a enemy 1 ID variable an enemy 2 ID variable and an enemy 3 ID variable.  Basically, I give the id number to the variable, and then the event will set the HP, ATK, DEF , etc variables for each enemy.  (I use three different common events, one for each enemy, 1/2/3).  In Battle, the event only calls upon the generic Enemy 1 ATK variable that was set by the earlier event.

I hope that made sense.

This whole timeline, frankly, is fucken lol.  Metallurgy was discovered before after ('scuse me.) the first kingdom was founded (In other words they tilled their fields with stone and protected their king with weapons made of horn?)  After that it took a single kingdom to unite the known world under a single banner 100 years, nevermind it taking the Roman Empire, equipped at their height with iron weaponry, nearly 300 years (Give or take) to conquer the northernmost coast of Africa and about a third of Europe.  Further, why is the year of the calendar increasing and then suddenly decreasing?

A war between two kingdoms lasts 110 years and has 3,000 casualties?  That's an average of 27 casualties a year.  There was roughly 30 major battles throughout the real hundred years war - that'd be 100 casualties per MAJOR battle, on average.  Further, a war of this frame of time only ever involved two countries?  No exporting of any weaponry or wartime supplies by any other countries?  No one ever got sick of the economy being strained by such a long war and the consequent destruction as to get involved as a peacemaking force?

Why is the colony at Linle any importance at all?  If we've progressed to a pseudo-mercantile, imperialist economic system by this time, as colonialism suggests, why pay mention to only one colony being freed?  If I had to guess, it's because "This was the only colony on the planet to ever be freed!".  Tell me that's the answer.  By all means, make my day.

How exactly do a series of floods destroy an entire kingdom?  I would guess if this setting was any more intelligent that the flood enflamed the political situation and lead to the collapse of the government, from which rose the other kingdom mentioned, but somehow I get the feeling that "an entire country didn't sink into the ocean" is too sensible for this writing.  Further, how does a wildfire destroy half the world?  Assuming countries aren't just a giant chain of cities along a single road, the fire had to travel across as many as hundreds of kilometers between cities.  How the hell did the atmosphere cope with that much smoke?  Do you have any idea how much smoke a fire that covered half the world would produce?  How is the world not frozen over?  Read a book - your fairly certain to find our planet didn't fair even half as well as this one, and we were dealing with alot less than a fire that covered half the landmass.

Nevermind all that, though, it took 300 years to recover from a wildfire?  A third of Europe was wiped out by the black plague and less than a single century later Europe was at the height of the Renaissance.

A few more things?  This world has the technology to alter a human into a furry (You heard me.) and lacks the technology to prevent a wildfire from engulfing half the planet?  Probably most importantly

Mentioning a 17 year old's tits in her character description - are you twelve?  I God damn wish you were, because at your age not knowing better is close on par with cracking a sex joke during an interview.

Alright, here we go.

A) This is an RPG.  I can have any kind of timeline I want.  And the planet can have any kind of natural disasters I want.  That simple.  Is it realistic?  No.  Is this a videogame?  Yes.

B) Numbers are pretty unrealistic as well.  That would be because I was just shooting off numbers.  Did I do the math?  No.  I was too lazy.  I figured they were going to change eventually anyway, so why bother?  Should I have posted them if I didn't check them first?  No, but I did anyway.

C) No, this world doesn't have that technology, there is another storyline for her specifically that I did not post.  This world does not have that ability.

D) I didn't make the description for Sarah, another one of the people working on the game did, and they felt it was necessary to add some humor in this overall serious storyline.

E) The timeline got messed up because I had two different timelines and then combined them.  I must've missed that they didn't match up.  Thank you for pointing that out.

F) Just because it was the first kingdom on the timeline, doesn't mean it was the first kingdom created.  Also, the Great Fires didn't destroy as much of a space you think.  The known world wasn't that large.  It would be about half of what the Roman Empire would have.

G) They were able to conquer because Metallurgy was founded.  Why it says it doesn't expand until after.  Also, it doesn't mean that they couldn't have used sharp sticks or used stones.

Overall, I find that your response to this topic was very annoying.  I find that if you would've posted all of the critique in a better and more mature way, I would've found it much more helpful, and less you just being a troll getting his next fix.

This is an RPG.

And therefore it doesn't have to make sense?

I can have any kind of timeline I want.

And I can criticize any timeline you want, you petulant git.

Did I do the math?  No.  I was too lazy.

The mark of a bad writer, and an even worse mathematician.  If it took even an inkling of effort to realize that 1500 dead across 110 years of fighting isn't much of a war you should probably head back to middle school, love.

Quote
I figured they were going to change eventually anyway, so why bother?

You wouldn't need to if you got it right the first time.

Quote
Just because it was the first kingdom on the timeline, doesn't mean it was the first kingdom created.

Because that sort of thing isn't worth mentioning on a timeline of your world's history.

Also, the Great Fires didn't destroy as much of a space you think.  The known world wasn't that large.  It would be about half of what the Roman Empire would have.

And I'm expected to believe a quarter of this being on fire wouldn't cause irreversible damage to the planet?  Go ahead and google satellite images of a MAJOR forest fire.  Odds are it will be about the size of a pinhead at 1 kilometer above sea level.

Also, it doesn't mean that they couldn't have used sharp sticks or used stones.

Go gather some sharpened sticks, 30 of your mates and go try fighting a pride of lions for me, love, tell me how it goes.  Now do that while as exhausted, half-starved and marred by disease a neolithic man wold have been in his day to day life.  Now consider that this is a fantasy world, where instead of lions you're dealing with schools of four-armed rhinoceros men and the ilk.  Tell me how well it goes.

What do I even have to be mad about?  GRRR I'M MAD THAT YOU'RE A SHIT WRITER!  >:( >:( >:(

Let me guess.  I'm jes jellus that I can't think up the most generic, mindless JRPG settings with even half his proficiency.

Fine, you want to rain on my parade, so be it.  But why did you randomly decide to pick my topic?  Because some person decide to topic kick it after almost two months?  I don't see why you took the time to analyze everything I've done in my first post.  I don't get it.  Do you get off on that sort of thing?  I'm done defending my work, it's crap, yes, you've torn it apart.  But this is a hobby, not a life career.  It can be crap.  Why am I bothering to respond to this?  Because its my topic, I feel I have to.  I haven't even touched this project since I started college.  I feel the more I type, the more you are going to split it up and analyze.  I'm done.  I'm asking for this topic to be locked so this will end before there are most posts in this topic of us fighting than about the game itself.  When I work on the game again, I'll make a new topic.  I hope if I see you in it, it will be a posting giving suggestions nicely, or at least without the attitude you had when you made your post.
