The games that never were.
« on: July 30, 2009, 07:55:54 PM »
Ya know guys, over the years I have had some wonderful (imo) ideas for movies, games, etc...One's that seemed like no brainers.  Advertising that practically wrote itself.  It seemed beyond my limited grey matter how or why someone hadn't realized these golden nuggets and made them.  I found myself in those "Man, what are they thinking.  The should put me in charge." moments.  If you feel like I do, here is a thread for you to relate your "Why the hell didn't they ever make _____ game."  I have many but off the top of my head.

1. Mega Man fighting game.  Where you can play as mega, x, zero, or any of the bosses from the first on up.

MMO-Zombie Apocalypse Survival Horror Game. Imagine thousands of people working together fighting off zombies, scavenging for food and supplies and barricading buildings to keep the ghouls at bay. Awesome. Pure, epic, win.

Actually, there was NeverWinter Nights module like that.  Does that count?

Some sort of MMOGTA.

There are gangs and you do missions to level up, earn respect and/or get new weapons or such.
While wandering in the city, when you don't feel like doing missions, you can just attack rival gangs for fun or rewards. Of course, if someone calls the police, or you just ended up shooting a rival gang member in front of an officer, be ready to get away, as they will pursue you until arrested or killed. Or until you get into a Pay'n Spray or something.

There would also be some massive gang wars, kinda like a battleground or such, some with a goal (such as stealing an opposite gang's car or such) and some simply for killing.

Lots of vehicles and weapons to choose from, customizing your character, etc.

I guess it wouldn't work, though, or it would require a computer worth 15,000$+.

But it would be great. Or at least in my opinion.

Well I see it more like a boss rush or something than a fighting game.

You can only jump and use the buster, while in a fighting game you' be able to punch, kick, have special techniques, etc. Also, you can only use X (or at least from the part I've seen) while in a fighting game you can choose between many characters. And the energy bars are different, in a fighting game they're both equal and generally on top of the screen, not one below and one top left.

It does have some fighting game element, though, like using the same freaking attack to win a fight.

A game where you play as a memeber of Team Rocket.
