It's my first edited sprite. He's was one of the lead singers of The Misfits. Its not amazing but I like it.

it would be nice but I like the old school look with no shading except on backgrounds better.

youre confusing "Old school" with "Short cuts" then

What is your colour count on this sprite?

what do you mean? I personally think shading on characters makes them look like ugly babys. Oh well I'll go shade this. Its harder to do shading on paint. I guess I'll download a program to help with that. Shading isnt everything though. Its not like im selling it. Im doing this for fun.

Im not worried about your stylistic preferences. Val said it needs shading because its painfully bright and hard to discern certain details. I can give you some solid advice, and illustrate my point, if you answer my question. How many colours are used in this image?

No, sweetie, thats not what I meant.
Good luck. I dont think you want to hear what I would say. Good luck.
Id suggest you keep plugging away at generator edits, theyll help you get a grasp of the basics, and in the end, youll have more fun.

For the record, I meant How many colours are BEING USED. Not what the maximum colour count of the sprite sheets in 2k3.

Seriously, good luck. I think you should try doing the hair from scratch, and try to actually make it a colour similar to his real hair. the blond messy lion tamer hair is not even close to a long reddish black mohawk

Bah! #'s. he had hair like back in the day. just not as yellow. Im not a spriter. for me small detail equals cool enjoyable stuff. Not for backgrounds but for people. Im a simple person. but I get what your saying. my sister called it ugly intill she fond out I did it. I keep it as is 'cause I think it looks good and shading would ruin it. but I guess your right about the hair.

Yes, shading is your nemesis. Stay as far away from it you can.

looking a bit better. The big thing is though, Mr. Graves has a long mohawk, that sprite has a full head of messy, shorter hair
