A funny thing happened on the way home today...

Right, so my mom was giving me a ride home from school.  As usual, she brought the dogs (brick-head poodles) along for the ride.  I get in the car, and see that mom is holding a bloody paper towel to my dog Bingo's foot while calling my dad on her cellphone.  There's quite a bit of blood on the seat.  Bingo's fussing, so we can't really tell what's wrong with his foot.

Meanwhile, dad has been told the news about the dog.  In return, he gives us more shocking news.  He's scheduled to do a business trip in , in the very near future.

So I let the dog bleed on me (I'm wearing a white shirt) as we go home.  We drop the other poodle off and head over to the animal hospital.  After a long wait, the vet comes in and finds that Bingo has completely ripped off a toenail.  We wait as the foot is soaked, disinfected and bandaged.  Just before Bingo comes back into the waiting room, we get a call from dad:

"I'm at the airport.  I'll call you when I'm in .  Sorry, but they moved up the trip.  See you on Wednesday."

Bingo limps in the room.  The bandage makes him flail his injured leg around because it offers very little traction.  The bandage is bright pink.  When it's wet outside, he'll have to wear a cut-off IV bag around the bandage.  We tried it out.  Result: his injured leg goes up to head level because there is even less traction.  He gives us eye whites and demands to be carried everywhere.

I woke up to the sound of my father moving his computer upstairs, and with a dog in my bed.  Then I played Pools of Radiance for about an hour and I didn't die once, for a change.  And now I'm listening to music on shuffle and the first song was one of my favorites.

My band director apparently used me as an example in class. He said that, despite the fact that I wasn't there, he knew I would be there and ready to go at band practice. I had to call and leave him a message about how this was a bad mistake...

...ouch.  Yeah, our band recently got hit bad with the "band flu". -.-"  It was weird, I was conducting a band about half its size at one point because so many people were missing.

Bingo is getting better at walking.  He still demands to be carried around.
And he still refuses to take his medicine.  Not a big surprise there.
