Far Cry 3...
« on: June 07, 2011, 03:38:38 PM »
ORGASM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I liked Far Cry, and I found the second one okay for a little bit. However, they seemed to lack
a gripping storyline and believable characters for the most part. Well, I just watched this:

My perspective on life has changed forever. Wow.

Yeah, I'm pretty excited. I loved the first FarCry (although, the mutants kind of weirded things out for me), and played the hell out of the Xbox FarCry games. The second game was pretty different (I understand that it's because Ubisoft and Crytek parted ways), but it was still pretty enjoyable. It had some flaws, like repetitive missions, a world filled with people who want your head for no god damn reason, and shockingly frequent respawning on said angry mobs. I've actually had times where I'd destroyed an outpost, crossed a wooden bridge, and turned around to see that the entire camp had respawned. At least their visual range is only about 100m, because getting shot in the back by zombies is only cool when they're supposed to be back-shooting zombies.

This looks like they're trying to bring back some of the first games' stuff (like the lush jungle environment and better goals) while retaining the second game's even more open-world, open-ended way of doing things. I like that you can get money from dead guys instead of constantly hunting diamonds, and the new gunplay mechanics look like a blast. I just hope the map editor is as fun to play around with as it always was (well, on consoles, at least. Closest thing to a PC world editor any Xbox ever had).

Just hope my rig can run the damn thing! I just love the sneaking elements, where he leaps that guy and
stabs the **** out of him. And that damn bad guy... wow, he's genuinely very scary. Not seen someone as
scary as that since Andrew Ryan. I'm sure I saw XP too. Levelling would make this even better :D
