So I've heard Taki, Cassandra and Sophitia  Talim, Xianghua, Seong Mina, Amy, Setsuka, Zasalamel... sure, some have "clones" but still.

Natsu took Taki's place, less boobs this time. But that can be remidies with the character creation.
Pyrrha is pretty much cassandra with an awful idle stance
Pyrrha Omega is the enw Sophitia, far too fast for her own good
Talim is gone,
Lexia looks, moves and sound like Xianghua
Seung mina fused with the kilik style to form the Xiba style
I'm glad amy is gone. Such a lame character.
Setsuka's style minus the umbrella became Protoklos Alpha
And good ol' zasalamel is gone he was an awesome character.

Zasalamel should have stayed. :/

I don't really like clones. I kinda liked Amy, too.
As for story DLC, that would be gay. But games tend to do this now, so chances are this game will end up with a bite mark on its penis later on.

Namco released a bunch of old songs and a customization package today. And still no Dampierre, from what I read I thought he would be out with that update. Odd indeed.
Speaking of odd - I just unlocked that oen guy with both epic swords stuffed into each of his hands. He's not wearing any pants in this game. And he's way too fast in this game as well.

Been trying out a lot of characters lately, I never did that while playing the story mode since it's pretty much about Pot and Pyr. Zwei and Viola wasn't as hard to learn as I thought. Gotta love that magicky ball. A shame the damage output is a bit so and so and that you easily get out of rhythm when the AI interferes.

And I still can't beat the super-AI nightmare. he's simply not giving me any quarter at all. The openings in his attack patterns are so small that you just gotta get the first his and take it from there or end up crushed.

Currently at lvl 25. Unlocked some "new" weapons.

My guess is that you're on the american servers and not the EU ones. 'cuz I still can't find that scoundrel. I go to the ps3 tab > ps3 addons > soul calibur V > just a bunch of music and 3 costume packs.

Or do I have to do something really fancy to even see it`?

Wait, wait. Wait. Tell me Raphael is in this and hasn't been ruined. The status of my erection depends upon it.

He's in this, he's looking a bit more castlevania and the only difference I could tell is that his worthless teleport from SCIV was gone (or at least switched buttons, haven't played that much with him)

Raphiel is by far better, quicker, and has a ruthless 8way run game. His only problem is his attacks are mostly horizontal, so characters with faster 8way run play (Devil Jin, Maxi,) Beat him up, but characters like Xiba, Cervantes, Ivy, Pyrrah, get stomped on by Raphiel.

His brave edge attacks are on the top tier of good, strong, and useful, and using those often secures a swift victory.

To beat super-Ai Nightmare, you're gonna have to learn when to duck, sidestep, and you're going to have to impact guard every now and then. Impact guards are still in, they just take a portion of your critical edge gauge. Also, you have to stay relentless on the assault.
Catch on too his trickery, and win. Trust me, it took me an hour and a half to beat legendary souls, I beat Nightmare second try, it's Siegfried who will give you the most trouble. Super AI Nightmare < Super AI Siegfried < Super AI Pyrra Omega.

Just go into quick match, CPU vs CUP, very hard difficulty, and set Pyyra Omega against anyone you like, watch as they get slaughtered.
and Devil Jin will more often than not, roflstomp nightmare in cpu vs cpu

All this talk is exciting, I have a Soul Calibur V tourney I'm going to enter next week at A&G con, Ohio. (Anime&Gaming)
So, I've been practicing Devil Jin a lot.

Maybe I should read up on how to do the guard impacts and such... I just assumed they were gone.
Also, I'm not finding a lot of combatants online anymore... Wonder where everyone went. I'm mostly playing through the quick battles and beating the arcade. Getting a level up and unlocking titles.
Hard mode arcades are getting on my nerves. One second the enemy is all bad and passive. Then I fight someone like cervantes, mitsurugi, siegfried, nightmare or algol who simply whacks my *** back for 15minutes.

What I hate most about nightmare is the fact that he's always seem to be ducking... Meaning I can't grab him, hit him with horizontal moves or use high attacks. That rush thing he does. Also his range is ridiculous. At least siegfried holds his sword with both hands.

Currently at lvl 35. And I just now realised there were tabs with more patterns for the colouring...
Also, still no Dampierre on the ps3 store.

Well, nightmares loses out on faster assults, some characters with leaps or jumps win. Devin Jin has plenty of leaps, so it's a major portion of how to win. Cervantes should NOT be giving you trouble. He's exploitable, I beat him first try in legendary souls mode.... e_e
The AI plays cervantes like an idiot, spamming ge do rey (conclusion) 3 times in a row.

Side step, and keep blocking as much as possible, he has such huge gaps in his moves.

That's interesting, his problem used to be how vertical-focused he was. All his hits were straight out in front of him and anyone who could sidestep decently was immune to most of his decent repertoire. I'm going to have to check this out now.

Opps. I meant Vertical focused. I am a total and absolute idiot.
