Jesus Makes a Contest: Part One
Contest Summary: Add text to a video. Interested? Keep reading.
Below is a link to a video I recorded just now. The game it is from is known as FEY, and it is made in rpg maker 2003 by Ashes of Emerald of rpgmaker.net. I have edited out the text of the video and replaced most words with “Blah”. Your job, as contestants, will be to fill in the “blahs” with your own text!

Some notes: Landon is the name of the main character.

How the contest is conducted: Fill out each line of “blah blah blah” with your own text. There should be an equal number of sentences in the video as there are in your entry (minus a thought, which will be gone over later). If a word is actually filled in, such as “Over here!” or “Landon”, then you must use that word in your made up sentence. Your sentences can be as long as you want, but please be reasonable.

Now, just filling in some text isn’t all that interesting, so I’m going to spice up the contest by adding in some additional rules. IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THESE RULES, POINTS WILL BE DEDUCTED.

Additional Rules:  1) No mentioning of the words “rodent”, “mouse”, “rat”, or “critter” in their singular or plural form. This does not mean you cannot make mention of them at all, but I want more creative words used.
   2) The terms “turkey” and “avalanche” must be put into the text somehow. Each word should only be used once. Again, be creative.
   2.5) Sentences with the words “turkey” and “avalanche” in them MUST be different than sentences posted by other people who entered the contest. I do not want to see someone posting a sentence like “That turkey took my cheese!”, then another contestant posting “My cheese was taken by a turkey!”. Creativity is the highlight of this contest after all.
   3) At some point in your entry, I want one (and only one) period of time where you write a thought that Landon might be having. This may be placed anywhere you want. I gave a few places in the video that this could ideally be done at, so you should have no trouble. Please keep the thought limited to five sentences MAX (thought shorter than that might be better…).

There will be two winners of this contest for the entries Lucas and I will be judging. Categories will be divided into Humor and Relevance. There will be one winner in both categories, and I imagine that it would be hard for someone to rank highest in both (so try to shoot for one or the other ).  Relevance will be graded on how accurately the text fits into the scene. Humor will be graded on how humorous the entry managed to make the scene seem. Both sections will also be graded on creativity, as well as how well the rules were followed.  1 point will be deducted for each rule not followed, and 1 point will be deducted for each sentence over/under the total number of sentences there are in the video (minus the thought). Point scale will be out of 10. If there is a tie in points between my scores and the scores Lucas gives, then the person that Lucas gave the score to wins (so blame him ).

If it is ok with the admins, I will make a small sprite for the two winners. So yeah, prizes (yum).

If a person would like to post multiple entries (one for humor and one for relevance) I will allow it.

I intend to keep this contest open till around after the first week of May. That should give people plenty of time.  If you are interested, please make a post saying so, then edit that post with your entry when you are done.

Yes, I will post the video when it finished uploading... for some reason it has gone from slow to sluggish. I may have to re-upload.

Edit: Yeah, you will just post the text and I will fill it in myself. I won't make a video of every single entry, but I will play the video and read the text like a script while it is playing to see how it matches.

Old man: Landon! press the Z key to get that bloody fishing rod out of the water!
Old man: That's not how you react in an emergency, Landon!
old man: I swear you have the brain of a turkey, boy. Give me that!

*old man puts rod back*

Old man: NOW GET OUT OF MY SIGHT!
Landon: What should I do in an emergency though, old man?
old man: Look, I've had enough of you. If rocks start falling...
old man: ...Lie down beneath the mountain...
old man: ...And die.

*Landon goes for a walk*

*LANDON'S THOUGHT* Well that wasn't very nice...

Guy: Landon! Over here!
Guy: My left arm keeps hitting me!!!
Landon: Can't you just stop moving your arm?
Guy: ...why didn't I think of that?!
Landon: ...

*rat battle scene*

Guy: Listen Landon, I Really wanna touch your crotch.
Guy: Here, I've give you a sand dollar if you let me do it.

(Obviously the stuff in asterixes is to help you see where it all goes.  Most of it is only any good when actually accompanied by the video (if at all :p) as it relies on the animation)

Just going to, give up, now, because I suck at this. But here's a nice start for anyone who was going to think of it (and won't be able to use it now!)

Good! Now press the Z button instead. We're not ramming into dinosaurs today."

I found it funny, but yes, you can be a judge.

Old Man: Dammit, Landon! A rabid turkey used his z key to paralyze me, so stop wasting time and HELP!

*catches fish*

Old Man: Absolutely incredible, Landon!
Old Man: Your impeccable skills of catching fish at bad times has miraculously cured my paralysis.

*Puts the fish away*

Old Man: Thus, I deduce you are a witch of seaborne sediment; a SAND WITCH!
Landon: You're kidding, right?
Old Man: There is truly no way to know for certain. However, this isn't completely bad news.
Old Man: Our village custom is to kill male witches, but the policy only applies to such wicked men.
Old Man: To become a coveted female witch and avoid your demise, I can get you in touch with a sex change service up north.

*north*

Annoying: Landon! Over Here!
Annoying: Yo, check out this new dance I invented!

*Head north*

Landon: What do you call that, the retarded scarecrow dance?
Annoying: Screw you, too! Why don't you just buzz off, man?!
*Thought*: Here he is, offending all my senses simultaneously, while I run the risk of being prosecuted for being the wrong GENDER. **** this, I'm going to rob his house.

*Mass genocide ensues. Landon exits house*

Annoying: Ok, I guess I deserved to have my pet chinchillas killed. Very well, I'll tell you the quickest way to get a sex change.
Annoying: Here, place this between your legs and run into an avalanche; It's... Uh, an ancient technique that works for Sand Witches!

ohh, 2 entries already. Very nice.
It is really hard to stop myself from reading them, but I think it would be best if I did till the contest has ended.. that way you can edit things as you like and whatnot.

Old Man: Show me how you use your rod, Landon.

Old Man: I see that you can catch other things with that pole, Landon!
Old Man: Here, hand me that stick so I can show you how I use my rod.
*Old Man turns*
Old Man: OH OH!
Old Man: You don't want to see?
Old Man: I'm sorry that I am too old for you Landon.  I see now that an old turkey like me means nothing to you.
Old Man:  Now since you won't be doing any good here, go back to the house and ruffle someone else's feathers.
Old Man: I have unfinished business.

*Landon leaves*

Crazy Guy: Landon!  Over here!
Crazy Guy: Come here!
Crazy Guy: Do I have your attention?
Crazy Guy: Good!!! Landon, are my test subjects loose in the house?!

Landon (to himself): First a horny old man and now this guy?  It's like an avalanche of crazies out here...

*After leaving the house*

Blonde Guy: I have a confession for you.  I am not actually a guy.
Blonde Not-Guy: Here, I'll give this to you so you'll keep my secret.

Just an extra crazy idea... When over, anyone who would like to do a voice-over?
Would be fun to "watch and listen" the winning text!
