eBay and Amazon are already selling them for near twice their cost.  Time to make some kids christmas while ruining the parents bank account!

I played monster hunter tri the other day and this ***hole frenchguy kept joining our hunts. No, the problem was not that he joined but rather that he hacked.
What fun is it to play a game such as monster hunter if you cheated your way to all the gear in the game? Got unlimited items to use in the field and no limit on how many you can have at the same time? This guy literately placed 20 shocktraps in the same are and didn't attack a single time, he just ran up with the largest bombs in the game (which got an inventory limit of 2) and spammed it.
Just killed all the fun. I just don't get how he managed to do it and still play online.

Obviously meant release games in general, not specifically mario kart. But Vita probably gets some sort of LBP kart soon. And I wouldn't be all too surprised if there is a Halo meets motorstorm or something.

The dude was just showing off and we were all jokin' about the mario kart thing

I hack more to remove region locks and the like (for example, I played xenoblade looooooong before it was translated and brought over to Europe/America.) or change graphics (brawl).
Also to place emulators (3 player Secret of Mana much easier on Wii than SNES), and other homebrew games on the system.

IMO, the Wii isn't as much of a hardcore gaming system as Ps/Xbox, thus it needs something extra to get me to care about it. Being hackable/modifiable is definitely enough to get me to buy it.

So can you read japanese?  I can't stand listening to the actors cuz the females sound so high-pitched and annoying and the males i guess are ok.  So if it isn't in english, chances are i'm not gonna watch it or play it.

And in Tales of the Abyss.  That stupid cat thing meuw pisses me off cuz of its stupid squealing voice, its not cute its fuckin annoying and i want to punch the voice actor in the face.

That's practically a fact. The weaker hardware coupled with Nintendo's family-oriented policies doomed the system to be a home for shovelware and children's games. The quality games for the more serious crowd flew under the radar because of the common association the system has as a kids' console. The WiiU currently has a nice line-up of more adult games (most of which are ports, but still), and it has a lot of supporters from the more hardcore side of the gaming world. The PS3 and Xbox seem to want to stretch the consoles' lives for a few more years, so that's just enough time for the WiiU to be around at its power level and make a name for itself as a serious gaming platform. Nintendo seems to realize that it needs to change its image if it wants to stay competitive (and even if they've claimed they don't care to compete, as a business, they have no choice), and they're trying to make all the necessary steps to improve on that.

I think the WiiU will be able to support itself as a hardcore platform. It may start to fade into obsoletion in the future, à la the Dreamcast, but it has everything it needs to stick around long enough to make a name for itself. The Wii didn't have the few years of a head-start that the WiiU has (in fact, it was behind), so it was immediately left in the dust, since it could never keep up with the Xbox 360, and the PS3 released almost immediately after. If they change their image before the next wave of Sony and Microsoft consoles come out, they can at least keep their third-party support without having to resort to approving any and all shovelware titles again.

I was always a Nintendo fan and will always be.  So I usually play Nintendo's main franchises such as Zelda and Mario etc.  The wii still had a plethora of good games though and since I don't play video games as often as some people, I don't need to have two extra systems like X-box and PS3.  Plus when Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate comes out I'll be pretty occupied with that for a few months.  However, don't believe that I hate or dislike the other systems, I just know I won't play them as much.

It kinda feels that Nintendo want to reach an older crowd at the same time that sony and microsoft tries to reach a younger crowd. Paradoxical!

Kicking this can.

So a friend just told me that you can't connect gamecube controllers nor play gamecube games on this thing. Which seems stupid, because I want to be able to use that gamecube controller for games like brawl and mario kart.
The console is getting some neato games lately but still no big title that I crave (except monster hunter perhaps).

Also Sony will reveal their latest project february 20, still kinda feels like their new thing will just be like the old things with better graphics again. So what we'll actually see might just be games?

I hope it's a new piece of tech to complement the Vita.
I'm sure if it was a new console, they'd be making a bigger deal out of it, though.

I'm having hella fun with Zen Pinball 2 on the Wii U, even more so than on the PS3, due to it being playable on the Gamepad.

Yeah, developers took "learning by doing" a little too far...

Manual for resident evil 6: controls on one page, then it's over. go to credits.

Starting the game. "hello guy, you have to play this useless prologue to find out how to move and aim your gun!

On the other hand, I got a DVD(DVD!) with tutorials with Mario Galaxy 2, it explained how to move, mate with yoshi and get different 1 ups and stars...

The DVD is better than any in-game tutorial. Most advanced players just discard manuals and DVDs (not really discard them, rather they never use them).

Anyway, my Wii-U-sername is GaryCXJk.
