Love the fact that they added more switch axes. Not so happy that upgrading one of them requires a monster bone +, I remember getting those of HR great jaggis in that event quest to kill 4 jaggis in TRI.

Oh, they changed it?
So I basically just have to beat some of the larger monster and pray for a drop
PS: I kinda miss the sub-quests. the missions feel slightly more empty without them.

Managed to get my brother to buy this, we spent a day playing. He haven't played any monster hunter before and I realized how stupid the skill system must sound to others. Also, there is no great way to get an overview on it like, at all. In the end he just purchased whatever he thought looked coolest.
Also, kinda stupid that the multiplayer quests don't offer the same hunts as the singleplayer ones. My bro had to go offline to hunt some great jaggis for his weapons because the multiplayer doesn't have a quest for great jaggi, neither Arzuros or great wroggi. At least not on the rank 1 quests.

ppl who dont know how to gem and nag me to hurry up in my room pisses me off. u dont go into a room and try to command us. example today. dude was like 'yo, abandon ur quest so i can help u.' i told him nah, i got it and he was like 'ok, hurry up then.'
if he looked at my equipment, clearly i could take down lagiacrus on my own. so after the quest, he kept trying to make us hunt agnaktor, but my friend couldnt yet. so he was rude and told him to start grinding so we can go. so then we got fed up, called him a pussy and to hunt the agnaktar w the other guy and wed focus on the quests my friend had to do.
he ended up leaving, but seriously. u dont come in bossin us around when u cant even gem on my level lol

And then you imagine the same thing only that the other guy is french and don't get it when you tell him that your buddy is too low a level.
Most games is some german guy entering going "barroth bitte" or something like that. The start a quest, some guy goes "let me join u?" but he's too low to accept it, you tell him exactly that. And he continues like "send me pass!" and so on.
At least you can communicate with your idiots.

Goddamnit, I hate that friggin duramboros. He just never dies. I remember why I wish that monster hunter had enemy life bars, or at least a skill that allowed you to see their health bars. Anyway, health bars!

Also, Nibblesnarf. Trying to get 3 Nibble claws to upgrade my ludroth axe so I can kill the Uragaan a little easier. But damn that sandy Gobul and his blasted claws. Claws are like, only wound reward. And you don't get two different rewards even if you break both legs, you need to break both for that one reward. And the claw drop rate is loooow. Killed it 5 times, broke the claws got 1 so far.
Farming a bunch of Rathalos for that awesome rathalos set. Who can turn down a sexy beast like that?

Haven't fought a zinogre yet, last thing I killed was a plesioth. Been farming materials and trying to get some commodities since. Feels kinda bad that the poor argosy captain got tons of stuff I don't have and I simply can't get the stuff to buy it.
Just waiting for good gear to come my way so I can start killing those damn Joes.
Also, who would've thought that a quropeco weapon would be used so far into the game?

Quick, random question. Is this game still "mission based"? As in... you're locked in town until you get a "mission", then you can go to a limited area, do your stuff, come back in town and be unable to leave until you take another "mission"?

Pretty much yes.
Either you go freehunting in the moga woods or take a mission. Just like tons of games these days.
Biggest difference is that there is now a high rank freehunt in moga woods.
Although the mission areas are more or less never limited as far as I know. They are pretty open divided into 10-12 areas with different resources and monsters.

Uhm... maybe I'll take a look at it, I don't know.
I tried the PSP one, and while I did like the crafting armour/weapon from monster loot and stuff, I didn't enjoy being unable to leave town unless I took a mission, and also didn't like how areas were limited to the mission you took.
I would have liked to be able to run freely in the world to farm cheaper monsters to craft cheaper stuff or something, and then take missions for the rarer/better stuff.
