Got Freedom Planet, it was fun. It had it's issues, but it was a good experience on a whole.

Got Vanhelsing 2, it was fun while it lasted, but I beat it within 9 hours. Wasn't a terribly long game, and just like the first one had a lot of difficulty spikes/balancing issues. Leaves on a cliff-hanger for part 3.

Got Savant: Ascent, talk about a hard game. It was only $0.99,  you bounce between 2-3 spots, and use the right analog stick/mouse to shoot incoming enemies. You get new powerups as you kill enemies that change the way the game is played. It's a game you get better as you go, but boy is it hard.

Got Final Fantasy XIII. I've beaten the PS3 version when it came out, and have had mild interest in the sequels. So I bought this one again, and I gotta say... It has some serious performance issues. My laptop has a GT 650m, which being that it's a laptop isn't amazingly powerful or anything, but I could at least run Bioshock Infinite at 1080p without any issues. I've read that the game runs shitty on ANY computer, so I guess I'll be patient for a patch. Game in every region but Asia is 60GB as well, because they shove the uncompressed audio files for English AND Japanese in those version, the Asian one ONLY has Japanese voices, so the file size is about 30GB. Still quite massive. Gotta say, one of my issues with the original American one, was disliking characters. Vanille's voice in particular was obnoxious. It's interesting though, the subtitles are stuck in English, while the voices are Japanese. What's being said in Japanese is quite different than what's being typed out in English. All the main points are the same, but the way everything is actually said pretty dramatically changes the personality of characters, and makes them seem a lot more likable. Vanille on one hand isn't super childish, she's very blunt. Hope isn't whiny, he's spiteful as can be. Snow comes off as less arrogant, and more lying to himself and overly optimistic. Sahz is less fatherly and level-headed, and more comic-relief. Gotta say, I'm liking the Japanese a lot more so far, I think if I can switch the subtitles to Japanese as well, I might have an even better time.

I got Metal Gear Revengence. It's a blast to play so far. If you can get over the fact that it's not a Metal Gear game in the least bit, and a Platinum game instead, you'll have a great time. This is my testing grounds before I drop $50 on a used Bayonetta 2.

This is why I'm so hesitant about buying the game, and why I was so horrified when I saw the change in style part-way through the game's development (around the time when Platinum was put in charge of it). I loathe that style of gameplay, and it really damaged my interest in what started out looking like a pretty enticing game.

Fuck Platinum, I miss Clover.

Between my birthday (yesterday) and Christmas, I was gifted Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Massive Challice, Risk of Rain, and appropriately enough RPGMaker VX Ace.

I gave better than I got, of course.

Its this time of year I really enjoy having an active Steam group of good friends.

Haven't bought any game in the winter sale, I'm still busy catching up with the previous three years of sales.

Yeah it's not really metal gear but if you like a good hack and slash like Bayonetta then you're bound to like Revengeance as well, it's pretty much the same thing. Also, there are some sneaking elements like the VR missions and stuff. But it's not quite the same.

I still haven't bought anything actually. Between playing WoW, smash bros and thinking about opening Hyrule warriors there's no time to buy additional games to add to my pile. Growing up sucks.

thinking about opening Hyrule warriors

Think no more: do it. That game is deceptively excellent. And, fair warning: the Story mode is very easy and pretty short, but the Adventure mode is where the real meat and the fun is at, so check that out if you're not so sure about the game. That's where I got hooked and have sunk 150+ hours.

I think I spent $120+ all up, which is horrifying.
and at least 20% of that was lost to the exchange rate

I made a nice haul:

Van Helsing 2
Metal Gear Rising: Revengence
Shovel Knight
Freedom Planet
Savant: Ascent
South Park: Stick of Truth
Final Fantasy XIII
Resident Evil 5
Child of Light
Gauntlet (+2 for friends.)

I also picked up Bayonetta 2 for Wii U since I liked Revengence so much.
Also a friend bought me Alpha Sapphire.

Good haul, good haul.

I bought Shadowrun Returns/Dragonfall, Papers Please, Don't Starve/Together, and Risk of Rain.
Risk of Rain's pretty good, although the tiny scale of the pixel art kind of freaks me out when I'm playing.
Don't Starve is good. I've been collecting survival games for research on a very lengthy project, and this one scratches a lot of itches I didn't know I had.
Papers, Please is a masterpiece. 'nuff said.
and shadowrun is a crpg, i was in the mood, it's good
