I need a little test
« on: February 22, 2005, 08:09:27 AM »
I'm working on a php-flash generated map of Venice.
The flash itself is created on the fly using the Ming libraries.
It works fine with my Firefox, and my IE as well.

But a friend of mine claims his IE don't show the embedded flash at all....
So i'd like to see where's the problem and which browsers works fine.

May you try to visit this link and tell me which browsers you're using and if you see the flash with a red circle over the St. Mark Basilica?

Thank you!

The link is:
http://community.ombra.net/flashmaps/index.php?p1_id=2&p1_db=links&src_module=links&hlangs=en

N.B.: don't care about the "strange" layout of the text part, after all it's still in developement! :D

I tried it with both IE and Firefox, and both showed up. Does your friend have Flash Player installed?

Yes, and he can see other flash pages.
Probably he simply played too much with security settings ;)

Anyhow this test is needed anyhow: after all, i should be sure the page is visible at least by a "common internet user", so asking you all to give a look is the faster and safest way for me to do this.

So, thank you all and continue testing!

It works fine for me with Firefox, AOLs browser, and IE.

Edit: It didnt work on my schools iMacs with Safari, and I know they have flash installed.

This of safari is interesting...

Maybe in school there are some security restrictions, after all it's a php file called as a flash src param.

Unfortunatly i have no macs to try, if someone else could try on other macs it would be very useful.
