Very, very bad news
« on: April 01, 2005, 03:54:38 PM »
Here

I'm saddened. It's the biggest news in Europe right now, but a lot of Americans dont seem to care. But I do. It's in God's hands now.

It's inspiring that he still does all he can to fulfill his duties even though he's so seriously ill. You don't have to be christian to admire that.

I think that its sad.....
catholics are hurting him......
its thier faith thats making him go on,
If all those people did not put thier hope in him, he would naturally give up......

We shouldn't think that the people's faith is a bad thing. Faith is a good thing no matter what the issue. I for one respect him, and I know I'm not the only one.

You're an idiot. Not every person will naturally give up if no one believes in them. You and half the newbs on Charas might, yes, but the Pope is a better person than you'll ever be.

He's a good man to go through with it all. It's not just other people's faith in him, it's his faith in other people. That's what's keeping him going. It's an honourable thing to do.

He's one of the longest serving Pontiffs, and he's only got there because of his faith. That's what being the Pope is all about.

^ see Warxe, THAT should have been your reaction!!!

I admire the fact that he belives so strongly in his faith, but people can't expect him to go through this pain....

*snore* If he dies its sad, but everyone dies... not everyone gets credit for it either... The pope is a human like everyone else, When I die the only ones that will care is my family and my friends... but when someone like the pope dies its a far more bigger deal... how come? humans like humans.

Still, you have to respect his status and commitment to his faith, even if you dont believe in his cause.

I dunno, I've spoken to Warxe before, he's a very intellegent chap.

What's funny is

Pope=Good
Heaven=Good
So why don't they want the Pope to go to Heaven?
PopeHeaven
does it imply Heaven isn't  all it's cracked up to be? Or perhaps the Pope has not been good enough? Strange, since they all highly religious.

The Pope should be admiried for going through suffering, but not all of his views are that beneficial.

Fun Fact: When a Pope dies, the doctor has to pronounce him dead. Then, the high Cardinal will call out his Christian name three times(In JPII's case, Carol) and then strike him on the head with a hammer, supposedly with the family crest of some family on it, to confirm his death.

No joke. NPR tells no lies.
