I'm suspecting that you misread the instructions on how to make a PNG, in older windows (Like mine) paint can't save as PNG. Try using Ultimate FX, BMP2PNG.exe, or other programs that can save as or convert to PNG.

Yes. If it says .png at the end but you have to download it to see it, it's a bitmap.
