Well, there's no music threads active at the moment. Post one or two tracks that you can't stop listening to right now.
Radiohead- Lucky
-
Paint Pastel PRincess - Silverchair. CAuse I`m learning to play it XD
But I`ve been listening mostly to Those Thieving Birds - Silverchair again, but from the new album. And a lot of Chris Cornell`s solo stuff.
-
Gimme Shelter - Grand Funk Railroad
I love that song so much!
-
Shallott, by Emilie Autumn. Classical-Industrial music.
-
The Will of One- The Protomen
-
I can't seem to stop listening to Denki Groove's Niji.
In general, anything from the Eureka seveN OSTs are pretty much embedded into my winamp for a while.
-
By the way, good to see you around Al~len. How's life?
-
Death to the Dodgers od Soap, By Zimmers Hole
And

Thanks for asking. Life has been progressing to say the least, I'll finally be employed soon so my lazy time will be cut by a bit. *cheers*
Another song I've really enjoyed for a good while has been Home Made Kazoku's Shounen Heart. Makes me wanna dance. XD

Hey, the thread rules aren't strict ones. It's okay.
Although I have a feeling I'd find a way to kill myself if I was forced to listen to your entire playlist, AFL :p
-
Dren's 5 Million = WIN. I listen to it while I play pinball on my computadora.
Also, I very much like Long Trip Alone by Dierks Bentley. It's country, but whatever.
-
Spin Me Round Remix - Dope
Damn catchy.
-
The Beatles - Something.
-
B.Y.O.B. - System of a Down
Deer Dance - System of a Down
Black Sheep - Sonata Arctica
...and a few others...
-
RIGHT NOW: In The Name Of God- Dream Theater.
But there's plenty of others ^^
-
Count Bass D - Youth in Asia
-
Nine Inch Nails's Survivalism has been on regular rotation for some time now. Did you know that there's gonna be a Nine Inch Nails game? Crazy.
-
A NIN game? Oh noes.
Isnt there enough crappy gothy crap these days? Nine inch nails were cool in 94.
All of a sudden the "kids" get a hold of it and they have to market all the good ou t of it all. Trent Reznor is old. She shouldve just stuck to producing. Hes got nothing to be depressed about anymore. But now its "cool" to be angsty and sad.
God I hate marketing.
Dammit, why isnt there going to be a mastodon Game.
Level One: Defeat the Leviathan
Level Two: Find the Crystal Skull and evade the birchmen with the help of the Cysquatch
Level Three: Find where the bohemoth strides, and avoid it whilst answering the call of the mastodon.
Level Four: The march of the fire ants is a Call to war
Nin Game : Wander the vast nothing. Cut yourself. Hate the world. Fall in love with some sort of thing that nobody else loved. Whine because nobody else loves what you do. Talk about a Broken Machine, which is of course, an allegory for your angst.
-
Siberian Divide by Mastodon has really become one of my favourites lately.
That's another reason Mastodon pwns. With most bands you buy the album, listen to the songs, decide which songs you like and dislike, and get bored of it after three plays through. With Mastodon the songs don't get boring and your favourites are constantly changing.
-
I think that I am the only one with three different muscials, 7 marching band shows, and a few others... I'm different!
-
It's definately good to be different. Nothing wrong with that.
-

I have 3 whole musicals and some drumline stuff on my ipod.

HEY...OFF TOPIC...
Perhaps a sticky is in order for a music thread. I mean, then a new music topic wouldnt have to be made every three months. I just happen to know a guy who can hook that up. My buddy is a moderator in all of all.
Imma have this done. If somebody has an objection, PM me.
I cant see why there would be an objection though. It makes sense.
Even though we have alot of stickies here....it just seems like good logic to me
-
This thread is also to discuss the music that is posted. What's the use in just posting your favourites and not being able to respond to other people's posts?
Dream theater- Fatal tragedy (Actually I'm still working out whether I like it, but I do seem to be listening to it a lot)
-
I have some serious Dream Theatre Issues. I dunno...I just have a hard time taking them seriously.
Im going to reccomend pretty much every track on the new clutch album. If you arent familiar with clutch, theyre like, a classic rock, groove funk bluesy metal band.
Very listener friendly. Theyre sweet, and you can listen to them with your dad, and not have his ears bleed.
Ive also been rockin to the classical these days.
Mussorgski..,modest mussorgski. Its pretty epic. I reccomend Bear mountain. Youll know it when you hear it...But if you play the entire thing in the dark when youre trying to sleep youll dream about hunting Rhinos.
-
My problem is the singer in Dream theater. I like where they take the music, but the singing annoys me, which is why I'm having a hard time deciding whether I like them.

Oh don't be such an indie. Year Zero is a concept album about a future facist America, as the game will likely be. It's not angsty at alls. That's a damn sight more mature than mythical not-realbeasts!
Also Rocket Collecting by Milla. Mmm. Her voice is like warm russian cream on a kittens face.

You lose. Face it. His concept albums haven't conceptualized anything since downward spiral. His formula is played out. And Youre a bandwagon jumper.

That's mighty presumptuous. I like what I like. I'm not going to pretend I don't because it is or isn't popular among other people. I enjoy Year Zero... perhaps more than the downward spiral in fact. But I'm still weighing that up.
Oh, and also Dropkick Murphys, Shipping up to Boston. Because. I'm a sailor peg.

Oh pish posh. I said "Don't be so indie" not "You are an indie". I was being silly. :w00t: Also original gangsta didn't quite cut the mustard.
Oh and I found some CD from a local band I bought like a year ago. I have no idea what any of the songs are called, nor what the band was called, but it's kinda funky. Hmm. That's borderline spam.

Yes. You have no idea how long that took me to find it out, too. Must have been like 2 years.
Also, Coldplay's Low I think. X&Y came out forever ago, but some of it's songs still stick.
That and maybe Sparks. I like Sparks.

guess what that daft punk song 'rips off' edwin birdsong in the first place http://youtube.com/watch?v=8Xn8M7s17pE
-
Daft Punk sampled, I know they did. Taking pieces of a song, and remixing it is sampling. Taking an entire song and essentially recording shitty lyrics over it isn't sample, just putting shitty lyrics over it.
-
Thats what daft punk did you ****ing mongoloid
-
Are you kidding? So you're telling me they took the entire original song, and layered new words on top of it? Really now? They sampled a snippet of the song, and added words to it. Kanye just took the whole of the damn song and didn't remove the words. Either way, Stronger is ****.
-
Kanye West is ****ing retarded.
Daft Punk took da ESSENCE of da Cola Bottle Baby.
I don't really give a **** if they removed the words and added their own shitty ones. It's just Cola Bottle Baby with some effects and new words.
The main melody of a song isn't a snippet
-
Im gonna go with 3 outta 4.
-
Right now, I just can't get enough of Through the Looking Glass by Machinae Supremacy, and to a lesser extent, Silent Revelation by Galneryus and Force Fed by Strapping Young Lad.
-
You guys do know Daft Punk reworked the song for Kanye right?
And yes Cola Bottle Baby is the best one.
-
Immortal Technique-Dance With the Devil
Coastercrazy was right about this guy when he mentioned him a long time ago. I knew he was a great rapper, but damn.
I still think the concept for this song is weird though.
-
Dream theater- Caught in a web
Aerosmith- Dream on
-
The Birthday Massacre - Blue
Madball - HeavenHell
-
At My Funeral - Sigh
I've been listening to the Scorn Defeat album a lot lately. I think it may be my favourite black metal album EVAR.
-
Ambulance versus Ambulance Blood Brothers
-
Megaherz - The 5th Of March
GOOD!^^
-
Slaughtergarden Suite - Sigh
Every song off their Elvenefris album - Lykathea Aflame
-
Out of the Ashes - Symphony X. Best damn song ever.
Arterial Black - Drist (Damn you, guitar hero!!)
The Relic - Symphony X
And, because it's quite possibly the dumbest song ever, I got it from my Mama by whoever. It makes me cry for the sheer stupidity, yet laugh because it's so dumb. God, next year it'll be a song that's just "Booty" over and over again. Oh, wait. (http://youtube.com/watch?v=AKpSMUUkiBw)
-
Contrecoup- They Might Be Giants
Not current fave, just playin right now :/
-
Dream Theater- Erotomania

Sounds like those who create RPGs aren't really into mainstream music overall... and I think that's a wonderful thing. Shows we have brains.
I tend to like something that's never been in the limelight OR way after it's died in the public eye, like my newfound love for Fushigi Yuugi or Fire Emblem (all but the Wii title - can't play 10 without playing 9 first, but I can't find any but 10 and 8!).
I'm also very addicted to composures of Noriyuki Iwarde of Grandia fame - "A Deus" and his "Fight!!" songs are particularly moving. Motoi Sakuraba also holds great love for me, as "A woodcarving star" holds me till it's last note. <3
I also enjoy Spanish Rock like Mana, so I think I'm pretty open minded. Or I'd like to think so.

Totally Fucked from the soundtrack of Spring Awankening...
As well as The opening song in Sweeny Todd... NOT the opening song they use in the movie, but the musical. I wish it was in the movie, but it completely gives away the plot, thus, would not make a very good movie. The song is called the Ballad of Sweeny Todd I think...
Along with my usual Wicked, and Phantom of the Opera. Even a bit of Rent mixed in there too...

personally, I prefer something a bit liess gay then disturbed. Ive been stuck listening to it at work lately, on account of my coworkers have a high teenage percentile.
Something about a band that claims every record is "gonna be more old school and badass" then the last, that continues to spiral downwards towards NuMetal forgotten obscurity....
So as a way to combat this, Ive been making them listen to my ****...
But then again, the only thing worse then vaginaless numetal, is chemical drug music.lol ZIIING
then again, im sure some of you arent grind fans either though
this drummer is sick.

I was supposed to make this like 3 weeks ago on the request of Drag. Huh. Anyway, due to all the topics based on music popping up lately, lets try and keep it in one thread shall we? Lyrics you like, top favorite albums, new bands you listen to, play lists, whatever. LETS DO IT BOYS. And Phayre.
-
Mini topic: What's you're favourite album of all time? One that's stood the test of time, clearly isn't a fleeting obsession and you can't imagine being replaced any time soon?
I'd have to say... Possibly Radiohead - OK computer. It's not my favourite album at the moment but I'll still worship it in a year or so when I've 'gone off' other stuff. If it's not OK computer then it's KidA or Amnesiac. So, basically, three radiohead albums >.>
-
I have a hard time getting into a band for a long time. I used to be obsessed with Lostprophets. (kill me :x) They were good when they started, then they choked on an emo weenie. Lately I've been listening to a lot of things, but no real specific favorite band or album.
There was this one local band that released one album then broke up round where I live. I love every song on that CD. It was truly something else. It amazes me they didn't go anywhere, but that happens a lot.
EDIT: Interesting censor =P lol
-
Hmm, I don't think I can possibly name the number one for me. I can create a list of a few though, so lets try that.
Pink Floyd- Dark Side of the Moon: That album blew me away when I first heard it, and I was only what, 5? Whenever I play that album I still have to just lay back in my chair. I can't multitask with it.
Alice in Chains- Alice in Chains: Same case. By far my favorite AiC album, and I think a large part of it is due to the lyrics by Staley. Those combined with the music just seem to work incredibly well together.
Jethro Tull- Aqualung: Again, to me its the perfect combination of the music to the lyrics. When you sit down and listen to tracks like My God, Hymn, and Locomotive Breath if you can't just be taken aback even in the most little bit, I don't really know how to help you.
They Might Be Giants- John Henry: Not really sure why I like this one so much, especially when there's their great album Flood. Can't really explain this past that I just love it, drum machine and all.
Queen- A Night at the Opera; Supertramp- Even in the Quietest Moments: I'm grouping these two together just because they're my favorites for the same reasons, and that's the sheer feeling and emotion I get when I'm listening to em. '39 from Queen and Babaji are probably my top on each respective album, so listen to those and you might understand why, I dunno.
So It's all classic rock, minus a grunge album and a whatever-the-****-TMBG is. Strange.
-
We've all been there, Dren.
Well, I don't really know right now. Protest the Hero just made regular music dumb, I can't listen to SIlverchair or Offspring no more...
Right now, I mainly listen to real gifted people: Metallica and PTH. I really need some suggestions (no growling. If it has growling, it's gotta be balanced as PTH. And good intrumental, like Opeth and such, please. And no nerd stuff, like Dragonforce!).
I re-listened to Mastodon, and here's what I got: the play REALLY WELL, the instrumental part is just breathtaking. BUT, the vocals turn me off. I just can't stand it...Go fetch a James Hetfield for youselves guys!!
Hm, listened to Foxboro Hot Tubs. Really, Greenday succumbed to the 00's Indie trend? Where are we gonna stop?!?!?!?!?!
Okay, this' driving me crazy, I can't wait no more: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQvDWdK_b1E
Draggy, I so hope you're wrong about this album man...
-
The only band I can relate to is the offspring. They really let me down with that new album, but I was kind of expecting them too. Bands seem to really be disappointing lately. Almost every new album I've listened to lately has disappointed me greatly in one way or another. Even non-mainstream bands. It's kind of sad.
-
Yup, Offspring has the kind of mentality that we can't expect to have them grow...they say they do it for the fun. Meaning they are not likely to improve much, like Green Day did with American Idiot...I hope the change. They've always been a punk band, but heavily stained with metal traces. The should bring more metal in.
-
I wasn't that disappointed with the new album. Actually I kinda like it. Sure, it's no Smash, but it's a step in the right direction. Especially after Splinter...
Uh albums. Right. I can't pick a single best, but...
The Offspring - The Offspring
Animals - Pink Floyd
The X Factor - Iron Maiden
Vapor Transmission - Orgy
The Dethalbum - Dethklök
I know, I'm all over the place!
-
Mini-Topic - Music Request:
Anyone know any bands similar to Enter Shikari?
-
The Offspring - The Offspring
You joking, right? This album is from the days when Offspring thought they were Iron Maiden! There are about 2 good songs in that...
-
I like all kinds of bands and singers. Harry Belafont (The Banana Boat Song...lol!), Queen (a personal fave!), Boston, Sting and the Police, The Black Mages....I have a few anime intros, as well, but those need not be mentioned.
Also: Tenacious D. ^_^
-
You joking, right? This album is from the days when Offspring thought they were Iron Maiden! There are about 2 good songs in that...
Stop that.
-
Any SOAD is good.
Serj's solo album is pretty decent too.
Favorite all time album: Dark side of the moon.
EDIT: Also, agreed with Archem. Dethalbum is brutal.
-
Stop that.
<.<
>.>
That what?
-
I re-listened to Mastodon, and here's what I got: the play REALLY WELL, the instrumental part is just breathtaking. BUT, the vocals turn me off. I just can't stand it...Go fetch a James Hetfield for youselves guys!!
Please don't do that. There are far, far better vocalists than Hetfield. He's recognisable, but that doesn't make him brilliant.
For clean vocals, Matt Barlow from Iced Earth is shockingly good. Seriously (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTYPSRIO0o4).
-
Nice mayoral powers there ZKX!
The music threads have been confusing
-
<.<

That what?
Metallica sucks. They have lik two gewd songz. So does Protest The Hero. I protest that ****.
^ That is what he means.
-
I'm risking geeting slapped by a blunt hammer but here's m,y recent playlist(bands not songs)
Disturbed
Cobra Starship
Panic!
Chiodos
Underoath
BNO(Boys Night Out)
MSI(Mindless Self Indulgents)
-
Metallica sucks. They have lik two gewd songz. So does Protest The Hero. I protest that ****.
^ That is what he means.
Well, he can lick my balls then. Hmpf.
Drag: Yeah I'll do that man...James has just the perfect voice IMO. I don't like Mastodon's vocals at all...but this Iced Earth guy has a powerful voice, I'll giva ya that.
EDIT: Ah yes, dear kids. So Death Magnet leaked (obviously on purpose, but yeah...). It's too good to be true. And it's good for 2 reasons: Metallica is back. And the fans, that criticized so much and said it was gonna be more **** SO BURNED THEIR TONGUES.
Marry X-Mas to me. In advance.
-
Oooooooo muzak
I listen to music for most of the day at work (when the boss isn't breathing down my neck reminding me of OSHA regulations), but I listened to these three songs more than any others today.
Tool - Forty Six & 2
Finger Eleven - Paralyzer
Tool - Flood
10 gigs on my mp3 player, but I hit back on these songs at least 3 times today haha... don't ask me why. Probably because Tool just rocks, and Paralyzer is one of 2 decent songs on Finger Elevens newest album =( so dissapointing. But good damn songs!
-
You joking, right? This album is from the days when Offspring thought they were Iron Maiden! There are about 2 good songs in that...
Don't care, I love that album like a brother loves fried chicken.
-
Boys night out- A Torrid Love Affair
-
'Jessica' by Allman Brothers Band. Can't get the solo outta my hyead.
-
Wonderboy - Tenacious D
-
Lol, that makes it ok then...
-
Jethro Tull- Aqualung
Oh yeah, I love that album. Dark side of the moon goes without saying, but Tull isn't on many people's favourites lists these days :p
Staying with 'dad's generation' albums, the second half of 'Please don't touch' by Steve Hackett is incredible. The first half is interesting but the last few songs (starting with 'Hoping love will last') string together in a prog masterpiece. It's definately one of my favourites.
-
That's like, my anthem dude.
-
Wonderboy... Who doesn't know all the words to that song? :p
I'd say, at the moment...
Master of Puppets - Metallica
Morning Bell - Radiohead
-
Hey everyone. Been awhile since I've been here. Anyways. My musical choices lately have been shred guitarists. Primarily Yngwie Malmsteen and Jason Becker. And some Buckethead. John 5. Paul Gilbert. All excellent guitarists. I've also been listening to a bit more mainstream music, like Foo Fighters and Weezer. They don't do much guitar-wise, but lyrically, they're not too bad. And of course, I love listening to myself play guitar.

80's German electronic at its finest.
-
I know! What's up with all that?
-
Oh, Red did mention that to me a while back... I agree.
-
I heard Synchronicity II on the radio the other day and flipped out and turned it up louder than I usually have it and started singing along. I love The Police.
-
I wanna see a list of peoples bands...I already posted mine..
I just want to see what music page you guys are on ( sometimes I feel like im in a whole diffrent book T__T)
-
You just listen to less demanding music, Felix. Most of us have gotten into less radio friendly bands.
As for a list... I'm listening to so few bands at the moment it doesn't feel like it warrants the list XD It always seems to be Metallica, Opeth or Radiohead at the moment. Enter Shikari's still awesome, and The latest portishead album is fantastic... Actually, I have this feeling I'm going to start listening to the early genesis albums again in the near future. So you could put Genesis back on the list.
-
Lists? Lists are for fags.
However, I'm currently listening to a lot of Pink Floyd, Children of Bodom, Amon Amarth, Orgy (well, I always listen to a lot of Orgy), and Iron Maiden.
And Black Tide. But that's because Black Tide's awesome.
-
I am listening to blink-182, Greenday, The Offspring, +44, Linkin Park, Dropkick Murphys, The Aquabats, Iron Maiden, The Beastie Boys, the bloodhound gang, Coheed and Cambria, Disturbed, DragonForce, (for the record not a die hard fan they are just good.) Julien-K, (Even though not many songs are out....) MC Chris, Mindless Self Indulgence, OOMPH!, Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili peppers, Rise Against, Straight Outta Junior High, System of a down, (And all associated acts such as Axis of justice, Scars on broadway, and Serj's self titled album) Transplants, and Weezer.
For the record the list could go on for awhile but yeah.
-
Alright, you guys want to see a list? I'll type up the list of all the bands I have.
-

I can't stand indie if it isn't German.
Edit: Eh, that's not true, I just find a lot of indie to be ****. Indie genre of course, not "we're just poor" indie.

-
Indie is not my speed. I find it to be... Something. Whatever it is, I don't like it. I borderline hate it, but since I can't pinpoint what it is I don't like about it, it's not fair to hate it.
-
VIVA LA METAL!
On an on topic note...Indie annoys me
It's too high pitched
High pitched notes hurt my ears
That is also the reason why emo music annoys me
When dudes sound like adolescent girls, it's not good
I hate sensitive hearing :'(
-
You'd hate Coheed & Cambria then. I'm not saying they're "emo", but Claudio's singing is unconventionally high pitched.
Either way, they need to be mentioned. Coheed & Cambria are pioneers and crafters of modern progressive rock. They are my favourite band, and they have yet to dissappoint me with their music.
While we're still on the subject of high-pitched singing, I'd like to mention Mew. Try out Apocalypso and Circuitry of the Wolf for some awesome riffs. And for general groovy awesomeness, try No Shadow Kick. And for a dose of epic, try She Spider and Snow Brigade.
And since I mentioned awesome riffs, Mastodon. Also fits into the epic category. But not high-pitched singing.
And while we're on the subject of Mastodon! Try out Queens of the Stone Age. Just all around amazing. I'd suggest anything from Songs for the Deaf. Well, also 3's and 7's.
What else do I listen to... Led Zeppelin. You know, just the best band on the face of the planet. Nothing special. Tenacious D, arguably also the best band on the planet. CAKE, pretty cool stuff. System of a Down, one of the best bands of the 2000's. And Incubus too! They're great. Also, Rush. The Who. Old Foo Fighters. Pearl Jam. Soundgarden. Stone Temple Pilots. Audioslave.
Alright, I'm going to stop now.
EDIT: Sorry, forgot to mention Iron Maiden. *shakes hand and makes a "whoops!" face*
EDIT2: And Dream Theater! ...
-
VIVA LA METAL!
[...]
High pitched notes hurt my ears
INCOMPATIBLE.
All the best metal has truly vocal singers.
-
Coheed & Cambria are pioneers and crafters of modern progressive rock.
0_o you sure? What I've heard of them could just about be classed as prog but I think calling them 'pioneers' of the genre's going a bit far...
And yeah, Claudio's voice kills it for me. Especially when the voice is coming from a guy that looks like him XD I thought Angela Gossow was odd to watch live... Claudio's a whole new league of weird XD
-
well my point has been proven...I'm in a whole different book of music than you guys are T__T
-
Don't really like Coheed and Cambria. I never really listen to 'em.
Foo Fighters are good. I especially like their stuff after One by One. Zeppelin also rocks, as Robert Plant has an awesome voice and Jimmy Paige is a guitar god. Another goodun is Shinedown. I love that guy's voice. It's not too high-pitched, and you can actually understand what he's saying.
Also, this song rocks.

well my point has been proven...I'm in a whole different book of music than you guys are T__T
With bands like that it's really not something to be proud of :/
-
I know, right?
Coheed & Cambria are pioneers and crafters of modern progressive rock.
I'd have to disagree, but Then that makes me think: How can I back this disagreeing up? Prog has since died, so it would be hard to prove that they were the early rebirthers of the genre. Prog is not a genre I venture too far into, so I don't have all the facts.
Let me just get off this by calling it opinion.
-
With bands like that it's really not something to be proud of :/
Since I listen to 4/7 of the bands that Felix listed....that was also directed at me......shame on you again ZKX....
-

Everything you just said about them. Is why I love them.
But wait, isn't prog short for progressive? Well, whatever genre they are (new prog is what I meant), they are pioneers of it. :Plight:
-
Since I listen to 4/7 of the bands that Felix listed....that was also directed at me......shame on you again ZKX....
yay I'm not alone >__>

Lemme change the course of the topic a bit...a question:
If you had a band, and it was up to you to name it, what would it be?
The names I've always been in love to are already taken: Metallica, Audioslave and Soundgarden. I just find them awesome (and I don't even like Audioslave that much.)
Anyway, I was thinking of "Blindfolds Aside", that is actually a song's name, but I think it says a lot. It's already picked too, but...
So, what's yours?

Dren, I understand you. There is no way not to listen to Paramore when the vocalist is SO UNEARTHLY BEAUTIFUL. Seriouly, I find her so cute. I'd eat her head, yes I would.
Haha, I completely agree. Also, to answer your question, I have a band, we're called Sunset Pursuit, I'm not really too fond of it.
Archem: Yeah, I'm not big into going out and buying albums , I'll rarely buy a band's CD and I'm too lazy to download anything better than Limewire, so I stick with what I could find and that's about it.
MT11: wtf? lawl
Job for a cowboy
OH boy, man do I pity you.
And I think ZKX wins for being the most partial to a variety of music.
-
If you had a band, and it was up to you to name it, what would it be?
Locusts of the Rain
-
Archem: Yeah, I'm not big into going out and buying albums , I'll rarely buy a band's CD and I'm too lazy to download anything better than Limewire, so I stick with what I could find and that's about it.
Ah. I thought you were saying that you only liked some of their stuff. Alright then.
-
I decided long ago that if I had a band I'd name it Killer Cheesecake. Why? It's ridiculous, that's why.
-
That=Awesome
Killer Cheesecake
Hah!
-
Oh really? If I start a band, I'd call it A Secret to Everyone. And if I start a band with my friend Kevin, it would be called TAP. That's an acronym, not just caps lock.
-
Southstylers - trippp

Urbangarde - Sailor Fuku wo Nuganai de (http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=tFHZ2SK-Chc)

Japan makes the best music, there is no question about it.

Land of Confusion - Disturbed
XD

If I start a band..hmmm It'd be called The wrong way to go
-
Whitechapelonian - "back from the Void Border"
and
Cosmic baby wolfgang pauli im experimentallabor"
:bend:
-
The Ting Tings - That's Not My Name
The Ting Tings - Shut Up And Let Me Go

I had to do this...It's worth listening to the crappy songs, c'mon...
Another name I'd put in my band is my guitar's name: Devil Technology XD
...
That'd be so cool.

****, am I the only one that doesn't like trendy scene chicks?
-
Nope
You are not the only one
-
****, am I the only one that doesn't like trendy scene chicks?
What's that? I may like em too, but I don't know what 's that...
Is it's chicks with dicks I don't wanna see, alright?
-
MT11: wtf? lawl
I was holiding up the Death magnetic booklet with my mouth showing through that hole that's cut out of the mouth.
If I could kill any band and steal their name it'd be Glassjaw. That, in my opinion, is the best band name ever. It's just awesome.
-
Just search up scene chicks in google images. They're girls like her, with the heavy eyeliner, clumpy hair, inconsistently dyed etc.
-
Attractive female vocalists discussion needs more Anette Olzen.
-
I dunno... I'm not feelin' it coming from her.
****, am I the only one that doesn't like trendy scene chicks?
I only hate them in person. In photo, I find them fun to look at.
-
Oh, that's what that is...Well, I don't really mind, as long as it "fits" the girl...
-
It would depend on the type of band. If I had a metal band, I would try to name us Black Soul Priest or Rustbelt or something subversive-sounding like that.
-
I'm still feeling for Locusts in the Rain
It's just a Fits-All type of name
-
Olzen really isn't hot, in my opinion.
She's perfect for Nightwish, though. I'm glad they made the change. Her voice is way better.
-
Olzen really isn't hot, in my opinion.
She's perfect for Nightwish, though. I'm glad they made the change. Her voice is way better.
Are you serious? She's hot all over IMO...
I'm not into rocker chicks, though...
-
Just search up scene chicks in google images. They're girls like her, with the heavy eyeliner, clumpy hair, inconsistently dyed etc.
It's the red hair, idk dude. can't I hate her and her and love her at the same time?
But for most part, I agree. I know some scene chick lookin bitches that are just that, bitches. But some of them are chill, but they're rare.
-
Today there's 2. And they couldn't be more different.
Opeth - A Fair Judgment
and
Boy Hits Car - As I Watch the Sun F**k the Ocean
-
Peter Schilling- Vollig Losegelost
Thou Shalt Not- When I Crash
Nothing new, really :/
-
Metallica - Suicide and Redemption
Metallica - The day that never comes
-
That is unfortunately very true
-
In Flames, IMO the best band to set foot on this world. Their newer material is going a little to mainstream for me but I still think they are the best. Otherwise right now im listening alot to Arsis, The Crown, Sonic Syndicate, Lamb of God and Devil Driver.
-
Yeah, they're not bad.
-
Been a while since I haven't heard about them...I should look into it again...
-
That music makes me want to break things

some music makes me want to punch a baby in the face

Death magnetic is really growing on me. I reckon it's a good'n.
I'm kinda intrigued by Rolo Tomassi, so I reckon I'll get their album when it comes out in a few days. They sound kinda like CoasterKrazy on drugs with some dying person screaming behind it, mixed with offbeat lounge.
-
FINALLY!! I knew I'd be you MT11! That's my fav Moose right there!
DM rules a lot, really. All Nightmare Long is epic as music can be...the whole thing, actually.
-
Is the sound quality as bad as I've been hearing it is? I mean, it won't influence my purchase (not really a Metallica fan), but I keep hearing that the sound quality is kinda lousy.
-
So I bought a bass today. I have no idea how to play, it needs an amp and new strings. I have no idea how to play bass and I'm trying not to be one of those "I play guitar so I can play bass" guys.
Here we go.
-
I've been messing around with my sister's bass. She plays it less than I play my guitar (which would basically make it brand new), and I think I like it. Perhaps I should give up on my fail-tastic guitar skills and work on bass, since I'm already better there than on guitar (I had no idea that was possible). Plus, it suits me better in many ways.
-
Well the gril I got it from treated it like **** so I needed to save it. But I think the tone knob is broken, it doesn't have a stop, whereas the volume does. She treated it so bad guys.
Anyone know how to fix this aside from going to some shop?

If you got a little extra cash, go to a luthier man...don't try fixing instruments yourself.
-
But I have no extra cash D: On a scale of 1 to 10, how important is it? I've always just played acoustic.
-

If this video is to be believed, then yes. Yes it is. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRyIACDCc1I)

To be 100% sincere, it's not like the volume knob itself is important, but it's really recommended that you keep the instrument tuned. And it sounds REALLY different when it's nicely tuned, y'know? If you have any plans on improving your musical perception, you better have your equipment up to date. Plus, luthiers usually do a great job on them, in every aspect. Plus, is you leave it broken, it'l get...y'know, broken-er as times passes.
I pay $80.00 everytime I send the Devil Technology to the luthier, but it's really worth it (it includes new strings, yay!)

The Beatles - "Strawberry Fields Forever"

-
The Aftermath - Iron Maiden
-
Over the last few days, I've been listening to some ambient techno stuff. It's awesome music to just pay and work with. It's enough background music, but doesn't make you focus.
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAwR6w2TgxY

Mastodon - Hunters of the Sky
Mastodon - Hearts Alive
Mastodon - Iron Tusk

Without a doubt, I'm loving the unnamed 11th track on the new Rolo tomassi album. It's awesome.
I love this album.

Ataxia - The Sides

Anyways-Sober, Tool
And a little bit of random WTF also
-
Camille Saint-Saens - Danse Macabre
This is the best song ever, in any genre.
I agree. But I'd say A Night on Bald Mountain by Modest Mussorgsky is just about as good.
-
High and dry - Radiohead
I haven't really been listening to it a lot, but it's stuck in my head right now. Almost anything by radiohead could be written here, really, at any time.
Other than that... That Death magnetic song that goes DU DU DA-DA-DU... da da da duu da da da duu, dudu- DU DU DA-DA-DU... da da da duu da da da duu, dudu- WOW WOW WUP WUP WUP
The wow bit is the beginning of the weird wahwah solo.
-
Overdose - HURT.
Why? Because violin owns.
-
Death Magnetic blows. Although it's still better than St. Anger *shudder*
-
Give Me A Chance by Black Tide.
-
Im not Jesus-Apocalyptica
My newest fav band
GO CELLO!
-
I tried Apocalyptica... But I kept mentally comparing it to actual classical music, instead of Metal, and ended with me totally hating them. Oh well.
-
Oh well
I love em
I like the surrealism in it's music
-
Where Silent Gods Stand Guard by Amon Amarth.
-
Weirdly listening to some CRAZY music right now.
The Foreshadowing Furnace - Dimmu Borgir
Bananaphone - Raffi
The Camelot song from Holy Grail
Rule the World - Kamelot
Hope (Instrumental, the lyric'd version sucks) - Apocalyptica
Oh and some emoish-gothish band my girl likes called I Am Ghost.

Stroke-Apocalyptica
Cause I'm listening to it right now on ma XBox, and it's awesome
Also worth note:
Burn
Worlds Collide
And Last Hope
The Camelot song from Holy Grail
?
Random...
Cool, but random
-
Meh, I got the sound track and I can't stop listening to that song.
-
Today? Easily these two
The Mars Volta - Roulette Dares (The Haunt Of)
and
Tool - Right In Two
Daaaaaymn
-
Meh, I got the sound track and I can't stop listening to that song.
In any great adventure,
that you don't want to lose,
victory depends upon the poeple that you choose.
So, listen, Arthur darling, closely to this news:
We won't succeed on Broadway,
If you don't have any Jews.
-
Devour - Shinedown
-
Funker Vogt - Babylon
Funker Vogt - Darwin's Nightmare
-

Broadway doesn't rhyme lol
-
It fits a rhyme scheme, though. The formatting that Zeek posted it in doesn't portray that very well, though.
-
I'm liking "To Live is to Die" by Metallica. Pretty much the whole Justice For All album. And I have Jason Becker's "Hot Licks" DVD, it's rather badass.
W00t! Post 666!!! :vampire: >: :mrT:
-
Sweet, erm...Desi?
I hate "Helden" by Apocalyptica, but it's in their anyways
It keeps overlapping the stuff that I try to think of to exorcise it from my mind
-
Broadway doesn't rhyme lol
It's from Spamalot...
Friend is a Four Letter Word and Italian Leather Sofa- Cake
-
I applaud you for being a Cake fan.
-
I fuckin' love Cake.
Oh, and I forgot:
Death, Death (Devil, devil, devil, devil, evil, evil, evil, evil song)- Voltaire
-
I need to stop listening to the same album over and over
Anyways:
The Llama Song
Here's a llama there's a llama
And another little llama
Fuzzy llama
Funny llama
Llama llama duck
-
It's from Spamalot...
I know, I was being a dipshit. Seriously, how many times have I ever said "lol" like that? :p
Kamelot - March of Mephisto
Children of Bodom - Oops I Did It Again
Lovecraaft - Maps of Creation
-
Children of Bodom - Oops I Did It Again
Eww, really? That song is always awful, no matter who covers it.
-
But they did it with lulz in mind. And for that... I applaud them. Besides, it's fun to mess with metal fans with that song.
-
Maybe for you
-
I am a metal fan, it's just entertaining to "CoB roll" them if you don't mind me using an old, retarded phrase to explain it.
-
It was still a shock
Kind of made me go
:o :o :o
-
It made me ignore the track.
-
Damn now I'm confused, are we talking about a Britney Spears cover or Never Gonna Give You Up? x_x
Also, adding Hurt - Alone With the Sea to my songs.
-
Good eye sniper!
-
I'll shoot, you run!
...What?

<.<
-
The Fable Theme, that the music box plays
-
I'll shoot, you run!

Yay you know the song too
*Hugs*
-
Still Fable music box
-
Well, less a TRACK, more a BAND. Hurt's songs are really good and I can't stop listening to them.
-
I'velistened to a lot of Fashion Nugget.
-
IMHO, Fashion Nugget is Cake's best album.
Fantastic album, all around.
Yay you know the song too
*Hugs*
Yep. Coheed & Cambria has been my favourite band for quite some time now. I have their entire discography.
Also, I know we have a few metal fans in here. If you are one of them, I highly recommend this guy. (http://www2.fanaticalproductions.net:8080/)
He's pretty unknown right now, so I encourage you all to check him out. IMO, his best stuff is on "Odious", which is his latest album.
Oh, and you can download all his **** for free, his website has links.
Seriously, check him out.
-
Nice
It's...interesting
Not my favorite, but still pretty damn good
-
You're gonna go far, kid
Offspring
I think that song is awesome. makes me wanna play G.O.W.2 or halo3
-
Love You to Death - Kamelot has taken on new meaning for me. That and Danse Russe - Hurt are really all I can stand to listen to right now.
-
I'm listening to a lot of Disturbed right now, I used to hate them, but now they have solos and stuff, and I must say they're amazing. Now that I listen to them more I'm starting to respect their vocals as well.
-
"Hell" by Disturbed
"Somebody for Me" by Nickelback
"Puppet Without My Strings" by Waterlily (Garage Band)
[Mostly because I know them and I wrote the lyrics]
-
A favor house atlantic Calabrin and Cambrio(epic fail spelling)
IS is Progression if a cannibal uses a fork: Chiodos
-
Stinkfist, Tool
-
Who Put the Bomp - Barry Mann
What? It's awesome!
-
Constant Motion by Dream Theater. Mostly because I bought it for Rock Band, regretted it after seeing the insane note chart, and then just barely beat it earlier today.
Barely with four stars.
-
Anything by Killswitch Engage. My Curse mostly.
-
Spiel Mit Mir - Rammstein. It's creepy as hell, but I can't stop listening to it x3
I'm starting to respect their vocals as well.
AACH!! AACH!! AACH!!
-
Disco Boy by Frank Zappa.
Great song.

When you're secure enough in your masculinity to listen to such things, come back and talk to me again.
It's not about masculinity, it's about taste in music. I mean, come on. Katy Perry?
-
He's totally correct. Artist means nothing about your masculinity (or in some cases, femininity), but it really presents your taste (in this case, you have none).

I agree with Archem 1000%.

-
Oh. I guess I hadn't realized listening to bears scream into a microphone was 'taste'.
What evidence do you have that we listen to "bears screaming into a microphone"? Sorry to burst your bubble, but more than half the stuff I listen to these days is instrumental.
Oh. I guess I hadn't realized that listening to talentless whores who pay various other people to make their shitty mainstream music for them was considered 'taste'.

How did you not know REM? I mean, even if they're not your bag, you still have no excuse because the game shows you the name of the band below the song name!
I was at another house
And it just started going into my head at the time
Now it's a retarded mishmash of everything and nothing at the same time

So
My favorite right now is the Dark Cloud 2 soundtrack, cause I got a new disk and it is working beautifully right now
-
Speaking of talentless whores, how's your mother?

Why Infinite Dreams? I mean, it's a fantastic song, but there are better ones to choose from.
I don't think so. I can't think of a single thing I dislike about that song, it is simply flawless in my opinion.
-
Well, that's how opinions work.
-
I agree with you 100%.
-
Well, that's how opinions work.
since when has that stopped charas from flaming :D
-
Hmmm...... My favorite song would have to be Anthem of our Dying Day by Story of the Year.
-
since when has that stopped charas from flaming :D
It works only if you throw some flame retardant reason on it before it spreads. Duh.
-
I'm still being stupid in the head and playing Dark Cloud themes in my head
Although I'm about to turn on me 360 and listen to some Tool
And fold socks
Alot of socks
-
Tool
YES
-
Do tool have anything doing recently? The last thing I got was 10,000 days. It was a little soft. For tool. Which means it was still awesome.
-
According to Wikipedia, they haven't
-
Theyve gone off to do their own side projects. Maynard is in a band called perfect circle. apparently theyre good.

Theyve gone off to do their own side projects. Maynard is in a band called perfect circle. apparently theyre good.
Some of my favourite songs are APC. They're a lot lighter than tool, but oh, the flavours they evoke.
Not too hot for Puscifer though, which is Maynards THIRD band. I know right. He's like a dirty bandwhore.
I mean a lot of people have been in three bands, but to have them all on the go at the same time? That's just nasty.
-
Maynard is a dirty bandwhore
But he's the cool kind
-
The kind with a heart of gold and casual STDs?
-
Yes

Listen to Atlas
It's bizarre
In a weird good way
BTW, the lyrics for the majority of it are:
People won't be people
When they hear this sound
That's been glowing in the dark at the edge of town
People won't be people
No, the people won't be people when they hear this sound
Won't you show me what begins at the edge of town
=====================================
P.S. I like very bizarre things
