Opeth - Watershed (Yeah, the whole album... I still can't remember which awesome bits belong to which songs. That album blends together in my memory like... a mind smoothie)

Radiohead - Punchdrunk Lovesick Singalong

I was supposed to make this like 3 weeks ago on the request of Drag. Huh. Anyway, due to all the topics based on music popping up lately, lets try and keep it in one thread shall we? Lyrics you like, top favorite albums, new bands you listen to, play lists, whatever. LETS DO IT BOYS. And Phayre.

Mini topic: What's you're favourite album of all time? One that's stood the test of time, clearly isn't a fleeting obsession and you can't imagine being replaced any time soon?

I'd have to say... Possibly Radiohead - OK computer. It's not my favourite album at the moment but I'll still worship it in a year or so when I've 'gone off' other stuff. If it's not OK computer then it's KidA or Amnesiac. So, basically, three radiohead albums >.>

I have a hard time getting into a band for a long time. I used to be obsessed with Lostprophets. (kill me :x) They were good when they started, then they choked on an emo weenie. Lately I've been listening to a lot of things, but no real specific favorite band or album.

There was this one local band that released one album then broke up round where I live. I love every song on that CD. It was truly something else. It amazes me they didn't go anywhere, but that happens a lot.

EDIT: Interesting censor =P lol

Hmm, I don't think I can possibly name the number one for me. I can create a list of a few though, so lets try that.

Pink Floyd- Dark Side of the Moon: That album blew me away when I first heard it, and I was only what, 5? Whenever I play that album I still have to just lay back in my chair. I can't multitask with it.

Alice in Chains- Alice in Chains: Same case. By far my favorite AiC album, and I think a large part of it is due to the lyrics by Staley. Those combined with the music just seem to work incredibly well together.

Jethro Tull- Aqualung: Again, to me its the perfect combination of the music to the lyrics. When you sit down and listen to tracks like My God, Hymn, and Locomotive Breath if you can't just be taken aback even in the most little bit, I don't really know how to help you.

They Might Be Giants- John Henry: Not really sure why I like this one so much, especially when there's their great album Flood. Can't really explain this past that I just love it, drum machine and all.

Queen- A Night at the Opera; Supertramp- Even in the Quietest Moments: I'm grouping these two together just because they're my favorites for the same reasons, and that's the sheer feeling and emotion I get when I'm listening to em. '39 from Queen and Babaji are probably my top on each respective album, so listen to those and you might understand why, I dunno.

So It's all classic rock, minus a grunge album and a whatever-the-****-TMBG is. Strange.

We've all been there, Dren.

Well, I don't really know right now. Protest the Hero just made regular music dumb, I can't listen to SIlverchair or Offspring no more...

Right now, I mainly listen to real gifted people: Metallica and PTH. I really need some suggestions (no growling. If it has growling, it's gotta be balanced as PTH. And good intrumental, like Opeth and such, please. And no nerd stuff, like Dragonforce!).

I re-listened to Mastodon, and here's what I got: the play REALLY WELL, the instrumental part is just breathtaking. BUT, the vocals turn me off. I just can't stand it...Go fetch a James Hetfield for youselves guys!!

Hm, listened to Foxboro Hot Tubs. Really, Greenday succumbed to the 00's Indie trend? Where are we gonna stop?!?!?!?!?!

Okay, this' driving me crazy, I can't wait no more: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQvDWdK_b1E

Draggy, I so hope you're wrong about this album man...

The only band I can relate to is the offspring. They really let me down with that new album, but I was kind of expecting them too. Bands seem to really be disappointing lately. Almost every new album I've listened to lately has disappointed me greatly in one way or another. Even non-mainstream bands. It's kind of sad.

Yup, Offspring has the kind of mentality that we can't expect to have them grow...they say they do it for the fun. Meaning they are not likely to improve much, like Green Day did with American Idiot...I hope the change. They've always been a punk band, but heavily stained with metal traces. The should bring more metal in.
