With less that 10 days away, who's ready?
I am not really a soccer fan, but this is my 3rd World Cup watching, and it's an awesome feeling cheering and going thru the emotions of the games; at least these games.
The teams I will follow are : Mexico, U.S., and Japan, same as last year. With Mexico being my nation of preference, although trully, we're not gonna get anywhere.
So, are you guys into soccer at all? Or you don't like soccer like me, but finds this event made every four years awesome?
i am actually pre-tty excited.
-
I don't like most sports. I don't hate 'em, either, but I don't like 'em. Soccer is one of them.
Hockey gets a thumbs-up, though. ****'s tight.
-
I hope every team comes last.
Spoiled bunch of pricks.
-
Canada's never in it, so i usually just cheer for Korea since that's what most of my friends do. To be honest, though, I never watch soccer until World Cup. (Kind of like I rarely watch Hockey unless it's the Olympics)
-
I don't like soccer. Or any sport for that matter. Even Hockey. And sports make people retarded. Events such as fans destroying things because their team lost/won are good examples.
I don't like sport.

I don't like sport.
That happens for everything though. Just last week, I made guy break his xbox 360 remote.
-
True, but sports tend to make a huge number of people retarded.
I don't mind a guy breaking his Xbox remote because he failed his head shot and was knifed in the face, but people destroying cars, burning anything, stealing stuff, etc. because their teams lost... or even won?
Yeah.
-
Scale is unrelated. All it matter is the technique of destruction and it's relevance to the cause. It the cause is little so is the destruction if the cause is greater there will be more. For this I called an specialist, Michael the friednly lizard.

The only thing I know about this is what I saw from the Colbert Report. The US has little interest in soccer and probably even less a chance of winning. But we do have the power to ruin our allies' chance of winning, particularly England's, and screwing over your friends is just hilarious. That poor goalie.
-
Yeah, we're total dicks. That's why everyone hates/loves us.
-
I'll say they hate us.
-
Yeah, we hate you.
-
D:
-
I must say, either every team is sucking this time around, or a lot of teams have gotten better. Other than Germany and today's Uruguay match, it's been either ties or wins by one goal.
-
I'ma go with a third option: soccer is effing boring.
-
It is boring. In fact I believe all sports are are boring. I just like the excessive competition this thing brings.
-
Hey guys!

BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Soccer is boring.
Curling, now that's something!
-
Portugal beat North Korea 7-0.
The Great Leader will not be pleased.
-
Portugal will be a smoldering nuclear area within a week.
-
I don't think anybody but the Portuguese would really care.
Hell, I think Brazil would celebrate.
-
I actually do follow the world cup. It's really the only sport related thing I've ever paid much attention to, or ever will.
Now, I don't know if anybody was watching Spain vs. Honduras today, but... Free kick fail, amirite?

Soccer no,nononono.
90 minutes of nothing. Too many rules, the players are a bunch of pansys falling over if touched.
It's basically a bunch of people in a far too large field, who kick the ball from the left to the right side.
And after 45+ minutes you can expect one(1) goal - if you're lucky.
Soccer and hockey ( as well as handball) are said to eb our country's main sports, but watching soccer is 1.5 hours that you really could spend on something else.
People can't put effort into the game since you have limited changes and stuff.
I'll watch the super bowl any day. And I'm not even an American.
-
Did anyone just watch that **** show of a match between Slovenia and England?
I can't believe I woke up early for that.

Hockey's pretty bad-***. Smaller play area means more gets done. It's high-speed and fast-paced, and nobody's a wuss. Fights are common, and can get pretty brutal. The game's just more fun than soccer/football.
That's why Americans like hockey more. That, and the one time when we beat the Russians.
-
The only reason I should like Hockey is because our team has won the Stanley Cup the most. But now they just plain suck. And even if they did not suck, I'd still dislike hockey. But it's still better than soccer, indeed.

They do that in basketball too, to try to exaggerate a foul.
