Completely scrapped old version, version 2.0 begun.

Characters:

Name: Maine “Dark Assailant ” Lucrue
Age:  29
Preferred Weapon: Dual Blades
Bio: Maine, or the “Dark Assailant” was an assassin. He killed for the pay, not caring that he ended the live of others. He wasn’t a legend, he wasn’t well known. He was a pawn, who had no will to disobey his mission. A pawn that would be spending the remainder of his days in a high security prison facility, where he would rot away for the rest of his days.

Name: Regal Charle Edmunds the Third
Age: 37
Preferred Weapon: Hammer
Bio: A disliked commander of Ternoun. At times was the king’s right hand man, and at others he was at the will of the lowest of knights. 7 years ago, his entire family, including his wife, was all wiped out. They say subsequent to that he grew to be slightly mad, and some said he had a desire for a death wish.

Story:
Commander Regal Charle-Edmunds the third is a well known leader amongst the nation of Ternoun. He was a Rondose of the southern skies, and stopped at nothing to get his mission done.
Recently approached for a new endeavor given to him by none other then the king himself, he was told he was to be the mouth of the nation at the 47th world-wide Executor Maximus Meeting facility.
Following the order, he proudly ordered up his entourage to set up the ship and load the fuel.
All preparations were done. He lifted into the skies...Closely followed by another.

Smooth flying, it seemed, for the time being. The crew maneuvered the vessel like masters. But they were being followed.
And the pursuer was soon going to strike.
It flew past the left flank...Made its way onto the soaring airship, and slowly killed the crew, one by one.
Regal could do nothing to help.
He couldn't even help himself.
A vicious battle that ended in his enemy’s favor caused him to be throttled off the ship.
Landing in unknown territory, he saw a great fortress overlooking him.
Why was he targeted, and what will happen now...
It begins...

Features:
Like said in the previous thread, a tactical battle system will come into play at times, and the regular battle system will be action based. I’ve also recently been debating whether or not to put in a CMS.

This isn't going to be like any old game where you fight any creature you see; you'll mostly only be attacked soldiers and such, not slimes or giant bears.

Also, there is not going to be much magic. More so, Technological advances within weaponry. Such as an enemy warrior's sword will twist open, or "bloom" into a mace type weapon, that will make him slower but far more powerful.

Or a sword that splits in two to reveal a spinning type weapon.
And so on and so forth.

I'm also having a card game similar to the one in FF9 someplace in the game, called "Duel-Tech," Or something of that similarity.

Looks and sounds pretty good. But you might definitely want to consider using another panorama for that last screenshot.

I figured someone would say that, as it is RTP, but it is mainly just a filler tell I find another suitable sky panarama.

Reminds me of Everquest or World of Warcraft, for some reason.

I'll have to check it out later, I'm on the school computers and that site is currently blocked.

Anywayz, your game sounds cool and has a nice plot, but that last map wasn't too hot. hehe, that rhymed didn't it :p Anyway, it looks like you had it zoomed out to 1/8 and just designed it that way and forgot to add the smaller details and such that every map needs. I could be wrong, but thats what it looks like.

Your other maps aren't too bad though :)

That was a pretty cool trailer... how come it came to such a large file size for about 2 and a half minutes of video? :p

I have two criticisms regarding the trailer, and neither are major;

1) There are a few spelling / grammar errors about. Not many, but I'm a perfectionist and tend to notice these things lol

2) I don't like the font. Methinks you should get it patched :)

Yeah, your last map is a bit bare... the north-east section is fairly nicely done, but it looks like... you kinda got bored doing some of it lol :p I know the feeling making very large maps... for example,
compare the very south-eastern part of your map to the rest.

I do like the rest of your maps though... especially the prison! Looks very dark and unpleasant...

I'll be watching this space...

The clip you gave us was pretty sweet. It gave us some nice RPG-action.
I do have some critism though.
The ship looks a bit too small, more space to walk on would make it look much better. And it might also look better if you moved the ship into the middle of the map. But except for that I'm very impressed. See, ships are what I suck most at.. It takes less than two minutes for me to get mad at the stupid ship chipsets. Never tried yours though, but it's not exactly my type of chippy.

The background panorama could also be changed, it's hard to believe but people still hate RTP and especially the panoramas. I'll attach a better one for you.

And while we're not at it.. How did you manage to get that font work so fine? We all know what happened to mine. oo'

Anyway, the game looks very nice. I haven't read the storyline yet.. I will though, after this reply. Everything looks decent, huge map a bit too spacey, take some space from that one and put it into the ship map. `XP

(Note: That panorama I gave you cannot be used for that moving effect, that won't look good. But if you add a nice picture, like a wind that blows strong against it, it should look like the ship is heading towards us.. or down the screen.)

Ok, I have a few updates.

There are now going to be a vareity of 4 characters to choose from, their names being Regal, Maine, Alexandra, or Faust. Each have their own seperate storyline, and they cross into each other every now and then.

A few new screenshots...

I took the advice I was given and made the boat bigger...

The first map of Sophamore peak.

This is an example of the chipset and such I will be using for the world map. This specific screen will not be included in the game.

Ok, and the midi here is the world theme.

Hehe very nice. Loved the demo. Very hectic, and alive. Not the usual static, some fast-over action scenes, you often see in a rpg maker game.
