WTF!?!
« on: August 29, 2007, 10:36:43 AM »
Okay, I'm trying to use a monster to test if my battle anim graphic is the right size compared to it, but whenever I attempt to import my graphic, it says 'Invalid image size' However my monster graphic is in the size limit, it is 230x240 (in the limit, but only just)

Any help?

I think they are refering to the image size as in the format. Is it a PNG BMP or GIF?

If it doesn't work just to edit that then you will have to copy the monster and paste it into another monster pic or do that thingy with 200 colours.

Make sure that the image is 8bit / 256 colours.  You can do this with most image editing programs, but don't do it with Paint (it messes with the colours and doesn't look good).  If your program can also make an image have a transparent background (Photoshop, UFX, etc.), simply save it to the appropriate folder.  If not, you'll have to import the image using RPGMaker's Image Management thing.  When you import an image, it has to meet certain size restrictions.

Prpl_Mage, you can't use GIFs with RPGMaker unfortunately.

P.S. Always use PNGs.

The program I use to convert images to 8-bit is called "Ultimate Paint".  Google it, it doesn't screw up your colors, at all!  (Well, maybe a little...)

It definately ain't format and colors, I used graphics gale to convert and it works perfect (no colour loss) so I really don't get why its done this. Meh, it probably wouldn't look right, the boss in maple is about 4 times larger than the character, but it wouldn't fit on the screen in rm2k3...

Perhaps you could post the monster so that others can test it out and see what's wrong?

Good thinking, O.
Mind if I call you "O" from now on? I'm already calling ZKX "Zeek", and he hasn't complained.
