Yeah, I use MSpaint for the main stuff.
Paintshop I use for adding special effects. IDRAW I use for pallete editing, and GraphicsGale for properly rotating sections and converting to 256 color quality. GameMaker is used to compile up GIF animations, and finally Windows GIF editor for determining how long each frame stays around in an animation.

I think it needs less straight lines in the hair. Y'know, chop a few pixels off the back, make the head look more rounded that way.

What about the colors? In the real size it looks...shiny.

Karl, you should use Idraw. MS Paint is worse than Idraw, IMO, and I really dunno why peoples use it. The only reason I can think of, is because they think it is cool :D
But I am sure it is not because it is better.

well i kno but im having problem opening files with idraw, and when i copy it with paint the colors are incorrect

Might have been a good idea to give us the original size along with the blownup size...

That hair looks pretty good to me, Gabriel. Remember that you won't be able to sprite the rest of his body as well as the template sprite- currently his hair stands out, but if you do the entire body it'll all be in your style and it'll probably look fine.

1. The hair definitely needs more contrast.  Just because white is a bright colour doesn't mean it doesn't have shadows.

2. The styles clash.  The hair has a clearly seen outline, whereas the rest of the body doesn't.

3. Make sure that, just like the body, the light source is top-left.

too much undefines white in the hair. Needs some definition in the highlights. Fill the whole head with your midtones, and highlight sparringly
