Should I scrap Spire?
« on: September 21, 2008, 04:55:37 AM »
If you don't know what Spire is, this doesn't concern you, feel free to leave.  ;3

No, not the whole series, just the first one.  I've been thinking about this for awhile, and I've not quite come to the realization, just finally faced up to the alternatives of it - The game sucks.  The gameplay's sub-par, and my mapping's pretty bad, and honestly I didn't do as much work on it as I like to pretend I do.  The alternative I was thinking was summarizing the first game into a journal of sorts, from Regal's perspective.  So what do you guys think?  I definitely don't want to re-write the whole game from the ground up, I just don't want to release it in its current, probably permanent, half broken state.

Any ways, all opinions, thoughts and the like are welcome (obviously) and appreciated.

Most of the mapping's done, and I use that term loosely since I was going to redo two of the stages.  I was talking with Fredrik (Prpl) about it and he said the idea of summarizing the events of the first game in a short 'novel' of sorts sounded like a pretty good idea.  At least in my own words, he did.  I'm open to being corrected.  I just wasn't sure if any one would bother reading it, since, being completely realistic, none of you really have any samples of my work to go off of.
