VB Question.
« on: July 14, 2005, 11:27:34 PM »
Now is Visual Basic free? And if it's not against the rules can someone tell me where to get it? If it's not free can you still tell me where to get it?

It's in Microsoft Word,
I think.

It's not free. It IS a Microsoft product, you know :P

But I'm sure you could find an illegal free copy somewhere on a P2P network.

The Microsoft Visual Studio suite is not free. Visual Basic is a part of it. The current version of Visual Basic is VB .NET, but many stick to VB 6, because .NET switched VB into a more complicated environment, as well as focusing more on code and less on the merger of code and form elements, which alienates those who were comfortable with VB6's version of OOP.

Microsoft does, however, let users download a demo version of VB5 which does everything but compile code.

In any case, I don't suggest such things for beginners who have no idea or any code knowlege.

Well I was originally going to do C++ but everyone's all like Nah do VB. It's better for begginers. So now I'm trying to get one that a begginer should do.
