Question from a simple noob

I have RPG Maker XP and '03, but I have issues with both. I like XP's graphics a lot more, but the sprites seem limiting. For '03, vice versa. I know there's ways to download more sprites and whatnot, but I'm very new to this, only my first week, so I'm still a bit confused. Where can I find these sites, and more importantly, how do I extract the sprites into my game? I'm aware this is probably the stepping stone for making RPG's and is extremely basic for you guys, but keep in mind I just started all this this week, it's a lot to take in!  

So yea, if you can give me some links and maybe a short tutorial so I know what the hell I'm doing, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks much.

then import whatever the heck graphics you want/need/have.

But that's another problem. I don't even know how to import graphics or anything. Put simply, I'm a dunce when it comes to RPG creation, just started a few days ago. Help would really be appreciated. I got the item creation and some terrain layout figured out, but not much beyond that. Baby steps though, right?

I'm not sure if XP is anything like 02, but I use the raw material editor for importing.
