Hello, all.

I would like to propose, to start an idea which could attract more guests on the site and make more members.
I think, on the Main (or "Home") Page, you could make a place with two stats of the site about the ressources downloading. The first could be "the 5 most downloaded ressources" and the second could be "the 5 most downloaded ressources RECENTLY" (because of the new interesting ressources).
I wish you'll make it because that must be improving for charas-project.

It's not a bad idea, just i have to find some time to realize it (it was discussed in the past, too).

Azyhow, the Requests forum is not the place for this kind of posts (it's for GRAPHICAL requests): moved to charas-project main forum.

that's what I was thinking, maybe make something like that, that said "most downloaded resource" or "most popular" it's a good idea.

The problem with a "most popular resource" list is that the popular resources are always going to be the oldest, because those are the ones that were downloaded the most.

I always thought that having keywords in the complete resource section like RRWP suggested would be a good idea.

Maybe. When is "recently?" The past month? So what happens when a popular resource is around for a month but still has not been downloaded as much as an extremely old resource? It may be the best resource we have seen in a half year, but it would not make either list.

Do not minunderstand me. I *like* the idea, I just cannot think of a way to make it work fairly.

Sorry to double post, but this is a completely different subject.

Here is an idea to get more people to come to the site: set up some affiliations and partnerships. We could look for other RPGMaker communites out there and decide to work together. We would link to them, they link to us, and everyone that goes to the other communities would hear about Charas.

It sounds almost too good... which makes me wonder why Charas does not have a lot of affiliations already.

That's already good you like the idea, we must ask to a moderator to make a forum with a poll, like in some forum, to vote my idea, this could be helpy for Alex to know each opinion.

Well im curently surfing the web for other rm2k fourms [still yet to have found one like this] and also other rm2k web sites [and again still havent found one like charas] and when im there i always post about going to charas ive been to many boards and there when people ask for resorces i give them the link to the main page and the fourm

also in all the web sites i will and currently are making i put up a link to charas hoping it will attract more people i also found this thing that is free that allows my site to be looked up on google
it takes 3-4 weeks but hey its free but some times it wont work but i have nothing to lose
so sooner or later my sites will be viewed and hopefully it will lead them here thru the links ive been setting up

i try as much as i can to help out charas grow and im hoping when i get money i can help to pay a little tribute to charas

What I would like to see is a system in which you can sort the resources by most downloaded.

The ajustment is easy. You can just add a "sort by" menu, like sort by most recent or author or title or most downoaded, and in the MySQL, you can just use the SORT BY ...; command. Easy as DELL.
