Which RPG Maker do you prefer?
« on: June 12, 2005, 07:50:39 PM »
I prefer 2000, because of its simpler battle system. You don't have to go running around looking for battle characters and battle weapons, and it seems like all the cool monsters are front view. However I actually use 2003 because 2000 keeps crashing on me...

EDIT: I messed up the poll thing ._.

RPG Maker 2, PS2..... XD

Actually I like 2003 better, I just want to use battle animations to make my battle chars (can execute more movements) and I suck at editting.

well... 2003.. basically, everyone's using Legion Saga 3's style of manipulating the DBS.. 2k3 has more capabilities than 2k (that's why it's 2k3 :D)

also for Custom Battle Systems, 2k3 is a recommendation..

2k3's my vote ^_^

I prefer RM2k because I like the DBS better than RM2k3's.

Plus, I suck at making battlechars.  :blue-eye:

2003 = level 99 and 9999 HP!
2000 = level 50 and 999 HP...

2003 is clearly better....

RM2K3 is better for doing custom battle and menu systems, mainly because you have way more recognized Key Input functions.

And for all of you who like the RM2K DBS better, you can duplicate it in RM2K3 by taking the battlechars out and changing all the monsters to front-view versions.

You'd have to position the invisible battle chars where the battle window is, otherwise, you'll see battle animations hitting air.

2000, because you stick with 2000 for a while, you get used to what the labels are. But if you go to 2003, the labels changed and they seem they're labeled so that new people can read and understand it.
