Having trouble
« on: June 13, 2005, 04:52:58 PM »
I'm having trouble coming up with ideas for a game. Everytime I get an idea, another one pops up in the midst of my game making and interests me. So, I drop the project and go to another. Now, I'm just dry of ideas. Any help on how to fix this would be appreciated. Any ideas would be nice as well.

I forgot a lot of them though, especially the ones I had a few years ago.

Try writing them down. I always draw up a script for my game before I advance it.

I had this problem a while ago. In the end, I scrapped my half finished projects and started a sequel to one of my old games. Being amongst the old characters was refreshing and I got that game finished.

This happens to me every time I try to make a game too. I think of sumthing then I think of another as I'm 1/2 finished with that game! THo only RM2K game I ever finished is about 5 minutes long to play and has 1 character. CURSE MY BRILLIANT IDEAS!

I know it's odd, but I work my story around a character. Make a char, like some random retired soldier with a scar on his left eye. Then fill in his details and work a story he can fit in. That's how I made my current one. My main char was in an RP. If I can I'll see if I saved the old RP files and just show the simple development of the game.
