Fan games over original games?

Hey, thats kind of dumb that you would HATE >:  >:  fan games... I mean, look at Chaotic_Deaths game, the Zelda one. I played the engine demo he had, and it was freakin fun, it was only one screen, and I was having a blast.

So play before you judge.

Fangame or not, as long as a game is fun, I'll play it.
The only thing that I don't like about fangames is when someone names their game "Final Fantasy" even though it has nothing to do with Final Fantasy, other than a few moogles or chocobos thrown in.

As long as the game is good and fun, I don't really have a problem. And about the "needed praise thing". I don't need that. I started making my game because I wanted to put an idea of mine into something. Originally it was going to be a book, but it got too boring. So I decided to turn it into a game. Then I found charas, posted my game, and now I have people who want to play it. I don't see why if people don't post in your game thread you should stop making your game.

I try to look at as many games that I can. There's so many projects posted, it's just too hard to look at all of them. I don't mind fangames like a lot of people. I agree with FFL2and3rocks that as long as it's fun, I'll play it.

Itīs sad when the new noobs come here and do a fan game...
When i started i didnīt knew that you could make your own charsets/b-char/monsters ect so i had 2 games made with RTP only...But they had an original story and nothing taken from other games.
Then i realized that i could edit things in the RTP map, and the i realized that i could save stuff in the RTP folder.
And before i knew it i had an even better game!
*But then computer crash down...*
And when searching for pictures for one of my favorite games: Kingdom Hearts i ended up at sprites.fireballxl and i realized that there were things that i could use there.
And while searching on google after "sprites" and "charsets" i ended up on this site, but then all i did was to download from the "complete recources"
*Computer gets a strange virus that prevents me from entering the internet need to rebot it.My backup cd got fucked up and my 5 hour game disapear...*
When getting the rpg maker from my cousin once again i searched on google asfter some stuff and came to this site again..
And then i decided to become a member.

Ok...This became of topic......The point im trying to get to is that itīs better to use RTP and do original, then chipsets/charsets and b-chars from a game that everybody already have done a fan game on.
And most fan games ends up in failure or that the creator just stop doing it.But if one finish it it usely sucks!
So with your first/second game PLZ donīt post it here because they suck, once again to get to a póint...

Do a game, show it to your friends, inprove by learning, check the games that people like Leon, Aceīor Insane have done and play ther demo when it comes out! This will learn you how to do great games!!!

Ok here comes my last point!
Fan games uselly suck in case they are not made by an expert who knows everything that can be done with the rpgmaker.
But that game can still be bad...
Chaotic_Deaths game is really good becouse of the motor and everything.
If someone did a Kingdom Heart like game that is like the game is in battle then i would really respect the guy.
If someone did a Star Ocean 3 battle systen it would be the same.
But when someone does a game that is just a game with places,chars or anything from one of those games like FF,HM,MG or DBZ and call it "Final Fantasy 7 Sephiroths awakening" Or "Metal Gear Solid Operation Zero" they dont deserve any respect at al.
Il hope everybody understand what im trying to point out...
DON`T MAKE FAN GAMES THAT SUCKS AND DON`T POST YOUR FIRST GAME HERE ON CHARAS!!!
